Governor Mister Phes Posted April 1, 2007 Governor Posted April 1, 2007 2. Rebuild the front (and part of the sides) of the house: 90% done When this is complete do we get all new WIP images? Quote
oo7 Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 When this is complete do we get all new WIP images? I believe that is what he said; Once I'm fully satisfied with the front, I'll take some pictures. *y* Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted April 7, 2007 Author Eurobricks Emperor Posted April 7, 2007 The Governors House (WIP) - phase 1 (front): I'm finished with the changes on the front of the house. Here are the pictures: Just to have something to compare, here is a picture of the original creator set: Next I'll start working on the interior and the back of the house (which is just a big white wall at this moment). Let me know what you think! Quote
Mike F Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Excellent work, Bonaparte *y* . You make that house seem five times better than it was! Poor slave, he looks too old and tired to work in the fields. I would make the chimney wider because it looks very small. Also, if you make it less flat with some green or brown plates, it might look better. A governors house should also be much bigger like this one: Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 7, 2007 Governor Posted April 7, 2007 I was looking at this here MOC and I couldn't help but notice the dark skinned mini-figure holding a pitch fork. While historically accurate I be wondering the political correctness of the connotations which may arrise from this image. Quote

While historically accurate I be wondering the political correctness of the connotations which may arrise from this image. Forget political correctness! As long as it's historical, I'm fine with it. Also, political correctness ruined PotC! The chase scene went from chasing maidens: *Wink-wink-nudge-nudge* To after food: To after J. Sparrow: To qoute Davy Jones: "Damn you Jack Sparrow!" Political correct-ness was the death of a classic attraction. Also, if it bothers you (Which is surprising as the Inquisition didn't care about forcing the MesoAmericans to work to death) maybe my Quequeq figure will now play as "Governor's slave"... >8-) Quote

He now works in the garden of the governor as a free man. Joshua has 9 children, so although he's rather old (67 years), he still needs to work to earn money for his family. But the governor promised him a small piece of land where he can retire next year. So don't worry about him Mr. Phes ;-) . But what do you think about the house? Quote
Capn Frank Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 That's a nice MOC B *y* I like the flower you put in a lot better than the ones it came with. Too bad about loosing the garage though 8-| , i guess the governor is going to have to park his Luxury car elsewhere. :-D have you started on the interior yet? The design of both of these houses are very similar 8-o That's pretty kool. It's pretty kool that ol' Joshua going to get his own plot of land next year. That's very kind of the governor. BTW, who did Bonaparte nominate as the governor? On the side topic: I never care about political correctness. It's dumb and way over rated. *n* :-P P Edit: Hey B, I found some ideas for furniture for your mansion. At the Accessory Index Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted April 9, 2007 Author Eurobricks Emperor Posted April 9, 2007 have you started on the interior yet?Edit: Hey B, I found some ideas for furniture for your mansion. At the Accessory Index I didn't start yet with the interior, but the new Accessory Index will help me a lot . I plan to make some of those small MOCs by JoJo. But I need to order some parts to get all the pieces I need. Quote
Jipay Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 It's historicaly accurate and that's the most important thing. One should never think about revisiting history for political correctness, it'd be really dangerous. So screw it ! Plus Joshua's sons obviously enjoyed a wealthy life in the future after playing in the NBA. Excellent MOC Bonaparte, it really shows how great the creator sets are and how useless a new pirate line would be as everything can be built out of standard lego bricks. X-D Now as the others I just can't wait to see what you've in mind for the interior ! Quote
Evil Willy Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 I won't make comments, but I very much do like this MOC, and I can't wait to see the rest of! Quote
Wout Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 It's anice version and I like the story of the ex-slave Quote
Asuka Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Very good, with a fine rose garden. *sweet* Maybe a well could add a little more historical atmosphere. Or even some kind of outsourced loo.... :-D Quote

Captain Green Hair Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Nice MOC Bonaparte! *y* The original set does have great potential, good idea! *sweet* I'm planning on a house vor Governor Bewier sr., this is a good inspiration.... Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted October 24, 2007 Author Eurobricks Emperor Posted October 24, 2007 Mind if i "Borrow" ithehe If you mean "borrow the idea", then go ahead ;-) Nice MOC Bonaparte! *y* The original set does have great potential, good idea! *sweet* I'm planning on a house vor Governor Bewier sr., this is a good inspiration.... Thanks! You are right, the original set has great potential. The modifications I did took not that much time. What kind of accessories do you have in mind for the interior, Mr Bonaparte? I'm still planning to make an interior for this house and work on the garden side. But currently I'm using all my time to sort Lego. I've bought several big Lego collections (on second hand markets and eBay) and those bricks all need to be sorted by color and shape. Not a nice job, but it has to be done. Once that is done (whenever that is) I'll continue on my MOCs. Here's a link to a collection I bought this weekend on eBay. Quote

I've just finished sorting all of my bricks from the HMS Charlie, DDW, the Xebec and any other partial projects that i started but didn't decide to complete. Just gotta finish sorting my men now. There was a lot of bricks. P Quote

Lord Of Pies Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I see a pie related pirate MOC being built out of the creator house in the future! (By me that is! :-D ) Anyway! Nice MOC Mr Blown-a-part! Bonaparte! Quote
Col. Whipstick Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 It's a nice pad... The red roofing certainly helps add an imperial quality. We really are in sad need of more civilian styled buildings. Has anyone else ever wondered exactly where the troops and pirates go to sleep at night given there isn't exactly much in the way of dormatories. Quote
