simonjedi Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Protoss are based on the Eldar not the tau jipay. Tau came way after starcraft was released which rumours say it was a 40k rts but GW pulled out last minute. Nice painting btw Lord of pies Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Yes, those are from a few years ago, I still have a fair bit of 40K models, which are actually well painted. Quote
Admiral Blockbeard Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 (edited) Wow i wish i had all your grey knights for my black templer army Lord of Pies! no shipping to Australia :-( btw i found a possable mistake This auction is for 6 models, 1 Techmarine painted to a semi-pro standard (still needs some detail finishing off), and 6 servitors (x1 multi-melta, x2 close combat and x2 Heavy bolters) note there is 6 in total but then says seven when you do the math, i am thinking the bolded 6 needs to be changed to a five... need to be careful someone may bid then say you were not honest and you be duped out of money... personally i thank you for posting it here, i would not have found it in buy sell trade thread, where it most probably belongs, as jiplay somewhat said...(no offence intended) What other models do you have that your keeping... EDIT: see brackets above, thought it best to be as respectfully clear when addressing a God. Edited April 6, 2008 by Cpt. Pegleg Blockbeard Quote
jifel Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 has any one gotten their hands on codex: chaos daemons? i would have got it, but im saving for the new rulebook. i got the current one less than 2 months ago! and now i need a new one! but it still looks really good! if someone has the codex, can you post pics? jifel Quote
The Rancor Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I used to collect Warhammer 40 000 but I realised there's more to life than tabletop battles (and of course, I mainly mean spending money on OK priced awesome Lego instead of crazily prized Warhammer ) If you must know which armies I used to collect then I collected mainly Orcs (which I cannot really see here) and I also collected a few Space Marines. If you want pics of some of my disused models (maybe my painting was good back then) I will happily post them. Quote
jifel Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 i'm considering starting a smallimperial fist army after i have a large nid army, and after that im probably just going to pick up random things just to paint. but for now... the great devourer is coming! jifel Quote
Eilif Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 (edited) Interesting thread. Like many of you, 40k was one of the big activities that took up time durring my "almost" Dark Ages. I rarely played 40k, but spent a ton of time assembling a decent Blood Angels army, building alot of scenery, and then starting an IG force. It's recently taken a back seat to LEGO for a few reasons. 1-LEGO is cheaper, though most of my recent 40k acquisitions came through bartertown or other used venues. 2-I joined a LEGO club 3-My wife likes LEGO alot more than 40k (in actual fact she despises 40k) and is willing to build LEGO with me. She has no interest at all in painting 40k miniatures with me. 4-I have a bit of (diagnsoed) Adult ADD, and the quick results that building LEGO can give is very satistfying. 5-LEGO has alot more opportunities for interaction with "normal" people. Most of the folks I interacted with 40k over were fine regular folks, but there wasn't much of a venue for sharing the hobby with folks who weren't already into it. I'm not going to get rid of all my 40k stuff, but I'm seriously considering putting many of the miniatures I have collected, but will never get a chance to paint (orks, space marines, Daemonhuneters, Witch hunters, Adeptus arbites, space dwarfs, etc) up on bartertown in trade for LEGO. iamded Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 (edited) Why would there be another Dawn of War coming out next year when there's one coming out this year? Because, iamded, the one coming out next year is not another expansion to Dawn of War, it's Dawn of War II, with a completely new graphics and features. Geeze, some people... Anyway, I'm really looking forward to it. I've got Soulstorm now, which me and my mates now LAN with instead of Dark Crusade. I have the say, the Dark Eldar may seen pretty lame, but their special relic-unit, the Dais of Destruction, has this terribly devastating move that sweeps the ground in front of it with a large beam of painful death. I'll warn you now, it can wipe out an entire army of Space Marines. Twice. ~Peace Edited July 15, 2008 by iamded Quote
jifel Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 iamded, in the next game are there any new armies? or just new units? if guard can get warhounds, or even better chaos warhounds, i might actually get the new game. jifel Quote

That make ya happy? Because it pissed me off. I don't know, I guess they just remind me of Zergs. And I hate Zergs. But, I really should be holding my judgement 'till I've played through the game. So, that brings the total confirmed races in Dawn of War II to; Space Marines Orks Eldar Tyranids Don't believe me? Check out the Dawn of War II website. You can clearly see Tyranids in the screenshots, as well as the video named "Tyranid Video", which is exactly the same as the Eldar one but with an extended ending showing a Brood Lord or something... Anyway, I recommend you watch it. Them. They're all good. ~Peace Edited September 14, 2008 by iamded Quote
jifel Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 its a lictor. Yup, im getting this! thanks for the news! jifel Quote
Tyranide Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Ahh, the video with Tyranid gameplay was absolutely beatiful. I always wanted to get an army of carnifexes and kill everybody on the map! Quote
ptdapen Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Ah, I wonder how I didn't see this topic before! I guess it wasn't active or anything. Right now I'm a bit too busy to really read this topic or get into much detail, but maybe you can derive what I play from this (or from seeing my avatar before): Who cares if they're too strong to be shot down! Just bury them with our corpses! Quote
Xin Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Hey guys, nice warhammer thread. My other hobby beside SW lego is miniatures, mainly Warhammer and 40K. I collect mainly GW limited edition minis from Games day, Army boxes, special promotions and events. I've a small Cadian and Blood Angel force. The Chaos dread lego moc looks good too! Quote
iamded Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I've a small Cadian and Blood Angel force. Cadian... that's Imperial Guard, right? The only knowledge I have of WH40K is from the Dawn of War games and from reading off the site. I keep getting Cadian mixed up with Cadre, which gets me thinking of the Tau... Anyway, any chance of some pics of your Blood Angels? ~Peace Quote
Admiral Blockbeard Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Hmm, yup thats how I like my dark eldar... Toasted ah the glorious buzz of a chain saw ripping though Alien flesh -I just hope I get to burn the witches! (being a Black Templar collector!) Love that trailer! Although I am rather confident in saying the Marines should have kicked a little easier than that! And it looks like that chaos outbreak has been squished. Long live the empire. Tyranids, however, this could cause a head ache or two. Regards, Cpt. PB Quote
