I just bought a used set and the pieces require more force to put together and there is a creaking sound in the process. This is especially the case with large or long plates. Does this indicate any specific type of environmental damage? The set should not be more than 6 years old.

The plates seem to bend more easily than new plates so I'm not sure if this just from play or if it indicates some sort of deterioration. The white bricks don't show any apparent yellowing.
