Rook Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Gold Leader to Rebel Base, I've had a collision with an asteroid. I'm venting atmosphere I'm going to try to crash land on... Rebel Base to Gold Leader, Come in. Come in Gold Leader… 3 Weeks Later Gold Leader to Rebel Base... Are you receiving me? Rebel Base: We are. Thought you we were dead! Gold Leader: I think I might be, well at least I smell like I am. I’ve secured local transport from a reclusive bounty hunter. He gave a lift on his airspeeder into a small spaceport in the middle of nowhere, place is called Mos Eisley, nothing but a dirty shifty spaceport and few equally sketchy bars. He’s loaned me his ship for a heavy fee. Tell the General I’ll be sending him the bill. I’ll be jumping to light speed in 5, 4, 3… Gravity Gunner by RΟΟK, on Flickr SoNE EP2 by RΟΟK, on Flickr SoNE EP2 by RΟΟK, on Flickr No added pieces. http://www.flickr.co...th/10537406254/ Quote
LegoFjotten Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Wow, great build Rook! That is really an excellent build from the parts pile! Quote
Hobbythom Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Incredible! It is such a nice ship, really good job! Quote
MKJoshA Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I saw this on flickr a couple days ago and had no idea it was for this contest! Incredible job turning a random pile of bricks into this cool ship! I really like the way you put the base together. Those TIE parts make a perfect stand. Quote
Rook Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 (edited) Airspeeder added. Edited October 30, 2013 by Rook Quote
Lego Spy Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 (edited) I didn't think Rebels were capable of this... (Who am I kidding, I still have Ep. I nightmares) Great job! One question for mods: So do minifig pieces count as extras or what!? Edited October 31, 2013 by Lego Spy Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 One question for mods: So do minifig pieces count as extras or what!? That's something we need to discuss... Quote
Rogue Angel Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Beautiful ship (as always) and I love the speeder too - It's perfect for the Rebellion. Great entry! Quote
Covi Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 The ship is just jawdropping! Nice work with the parts that were at hand! Quote
Rook Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) Thanks I was doing an interview with Joshua Hanlon for Beyond the Brick, when he challenged me to squeeze out one more build out of the spare parts. So here is again now with an added speederbike. MstrOfPppts Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Although this ship doesn't look too OTish, I quite like it. It is well made and the shape is really nicely achieved with all those curvey pieces. Also nice use of the planet. Feel free to add more pictures next time from different angles. Only now I've noticed that the ship is not simetrical ... Quote
Rook Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 When I look at this ship I actually see parts of the Y-Wing, Slave I, TIE fighter, Millennium Falcon, and Death Star in its design. The main cockpit has the smoothness and sleek design of Slave I, the Solar Array of TIE wings, the side weapons array of reversed Y-Wing engine, the asymmetrical balance of a the Falcon, and the gravity drive engine giving the final hint of the Death Star.
