Zane Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Starting in 48 minutes. Seen a couple of clips, looks pretty good. Just hoping the script doesn't let it down, though.... Quote
The Kid Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 That was pretty good. Jones is better than expected. I'll miss next week's, won't be able to watch it until the following Saturday - ah well. TK Quote
casewindu Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 i though that episode was really good better than i expected! :-D thee straw women was a bit stupid though i didn't get who she was suppose to be. I think those black robots she had with her are also in an early episode called "earthshock" watch it and see if im right! ;-) Quote
Optimax X Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Well, missed it. Those monsters looked pretty cool though, but not really a fan of doctor who, the cheesy storylines and scripts really anoy me, and it's been going on for so long now, i'm sick of the sight of it.... Quote

Zane Posted April 2, 2007 Author Posted April 2, 2007 No, I genuinely mean Shaun the Sheep is good, apart from his character being completely changed from Wallace And Gromit. Quote

Brainbox Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 and it's been going on for so long now, i'm sick of the sight of it.... 43 years last November (23rd to be exact). Although it did have some breaks. Anyway, this episode was pretty good. Really, it was a bit of fun to kick off the new series. I love the new suit though! Next weeks looks quite good. I actually don't mind Shakespeare, so I won't be put off on that level. And then the week after it's Boe's secret. *y* I can't wait. And keep a look out for this series' plot arc: Mr Saxon. ;-) Quote

The trainy doctor quoted something a "mr saxon" had said and on a poster behind martha it said "vote saxon". correct me if im wrong! ;-) i also recon (i will even bet on it i am that certain) that boes secret will be "there is another timelord" or something about the daleks. If it isn't i will...erm.... well lets just say if it isnt i will kick myself! (i bet your all waiting for that now X-D ) Quote

(It was also mentioned by the tank driver in The Runaway Bride). I think Saxon is running for Prime Minister in the Doctor Who Universe (Whoniverse? ;-) ) Boe's secret? It's gotta be the Master. >:-) Quote

The man on the advert was Professor Lazarus (as in, rose from the dead Lazarus). That's why the episode is called 'The Lazarus Experiment.' However, Radio Times says that the 'paymaster' of Lazarus is the plot arc. Obviously that's Mr Saxon. You forget, the Master's a Time Lord. As in, he can regenerate. However, I do accept that it'd be pretty difficult to escape from the TARDIS' Eye of Harmony. I watch Torchwood. I think it's pretty good. I particularly liked the cliffhanger at the end. That's presumably how Jack ends up in the TARDIS in episode 11, 'Utopia.' Quote
casewindu Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 i was certain that jack would be back in it because so many people liked him when he was in it. am i right in saying they find the daleks in new york next? Quote
Brainbox Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 am i right in saying they find the daleks in new york next? Episode 4 and 5. It's actually 1930s Manhattan. 'Daleks in Manhattan' and 'Evolution of the Daleks.' *wub* If you want some more info on Mr Saxon, look on Wikipedia. It notes that Mr Saxon is an anagram of 'Master no. six' Hmm... Quote
The Kid Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 How about Boe's secret has something to do with the last episode: Last of The Timelords? Hmmm... TK Quote
Brainbox Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 How about Boe's secret has something to do with the last episode: Last of The Timelords? Hmmm...TK Yeah, that's what we were saying. It seems like a fishy title... Almost as if it's trying to make a point, and then break it down. Quote
Brainbox Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 So, Episode 2: The Shakespeare Code Not a bad episode. I liked all the Doctor/Shakespeare back-and-forth with quotes. That was pretty funny. The Sycorax one had me laughing. It's good that no mentions of the other times the Doctor's met Shakespeare (off-screen) were made, neither contradicting nor confirming anything. And the Doctor is Queen Elizabeth's arch-nemesis :-D Next weeks looks good too. A darker side of New Earth, and the Secret... Quote
casewindu Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 anyone see last nights episode the shakespere one it was amazing! i did here mr saxon init though. I also liked were queen elizabeth came in and for some reason tryed to kill the doctor! :-D possibly another episode! next weeks episode is about some motorway isn't it brainbox? i like the way there is another cat in it! Quote
Brainbox Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 next weeks episode is about some motorway isn't it brainbox? i like the way there is another cat in it! Yeah, the motorway under New New York (New Earth). Apparantly, this episode used the most CGI of the whole series. For the motorway bits probably. Found these: Fictional Mr Saxon website (Possibly non-BBC, possible spoilers) Lazlabs webite (Dr Lazarus) Fictional Martha Jones Myspace Quote

They are soooooooo good with captain jack and probably the scariest episodes i have ever seen of doctor who! 8- Quote
JoeMI6 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I've only seen the first episode of this new series, and I have to say, it was pretty good. But I feel like the franchise is running out of steam, if all they do is bring back the cybermen and the daleks, it'll just get boring. We need new, exciting enemies like the Judoon to keep it popular. Quote

We need new, exciting enemies like the Judoon to keep it popular. thats what i always feel. They constantly get rid of the daleks yet they just keep comming back! at the end of the first series they destroy them all! but then they just bring them back in the second! and now they think they have got rid of them but we know that in this series they are comming back again! when will they just die! do they not know they are not wanted! i cant stand them the way the cybermen cant ever manage to kill one because they have "shields" AS IF! they are dustbins! >:-( phew :-D good to get that out of your system! Quote
Brainbox Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 and there is suppose to be a few more cats in it. Ardal O'Hanlon's playing one. But I feel like the franchise is running out of steam, if all they do is bring back the cybermen and the daleks, it'll just get boring. We need new, exciting enemies like the Judoon to keep it popular. But the Cyberman and the Daleks (and possibly the Master to a certain extent) are classics and iconic. They make the show as much as the Doctor does. Docotr Who without the Daleks is a bit like Batman without the Joker. Yes, new monster's are important, but the old enemies tie the show together. Without returning enemies, the new series would feel stand-alone to the classic series. Here's some interesting trivia, the producer of the first series was reluctant to use Terry Nation's Dalek story for the second story of the series (back in 1963/64). But no-one could think of anything else, so they had to use the Daleks. And nothing was ever the same again. Favourite episode? Classic: Genesis of the Daleks *y* Modern: I don't know, they've all been of such high standard and calibre, it's difficult to chose. I think 'Love and Monsters' was better than a lot of other people thought. It was pretty funny. Quote
