2007: Gaming Anticipations And Expectations

There are loads of games I'm excited about this year, and I'm sure it's the same for you guys, so this is a thread in which we'll post our top three most anticipated games of this year and reasons why.

I'll start it off:

1. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - Wii

The game which looks to set the bar for games on the Wii, this adventure starring intergalatic bounty hunter Samus Aran is something worth waiting for. The graphics will push the Wii to its limits, and it'll show other developers how a FPS for the Wii should be made. If it has online play as expected, this could even contend with some of the PS3 and 360 games.

2. Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Wii

This is a follow up to one of the best beat em ups on the Cube, with new characters, online play promised and much more, this is certainly a title I'm saving my cash for.

3. No More Heroes - Wii

Not much is known about this game, but from the first glimpse of it, it seems to drop kick any claims that the Wii is a kids console over a bridge. From the team that brought us the wacky Killer 7, this no holds barred adventure should blow us away with its intense combat and insane style.

3. Mass Effect - X360

Another BioWare RPG set in space with real-time combat? Yeah, sign me up.

2. Grand Theft Auto IV - X360

Grand Theft Auto IV. What more do you need to hear? :-P

1. Halo 3 - X360

The sequel to the game that made more $$ in a day than blockbuster movies make in a weekend.

3. Mass Effect - X360

Another BioWare RPG set in space with real-time combat? Yeah, sign me up.

2. Grand Theft Auto IV - X360

Grand Theft Auto IV. What more do you need to hear? :-P

Amen to that. You saw the IV trailer? Bloody amazing.

Both games are a very good reason to buy an X360.

As for further expectations, I was already let down big with STALKER, so I gave up on expectations for the rest of the year. Waiting for almost 3 years for that game only to receive some partially finished piece of.....

1) Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Wii

I've been anticipating this for a while now. All that's unknown about it makes it even more enticing.

2) NiGHTS (the sequel) - Wii

I'm really interested to see if it will live up to the original, and if Sonic Team won't screw it up.

3) Super Paper Mario - Wii

Really diggin the whole graphic style, and the ways to flip the stages.

There's plenty more, but those are what I'm hyped for at the moment.

2. Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Ok, so I'm kinda looking forward to this one too. But mainly to see how online play will work out.

3. Grand Theft Auto IV

I'm willing to get a 360 or PS3 for this game. 360 pricedrop, please :-D

Honorable mentions go to:

Pro Evolution Soccer 7 (PES6 keeps my PS2 alive together with Final Fantasy XII)

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl (I had the JP version, so I already know they're awesome games)

And finally, I'm hoping for a truely original Wii or DS title. Something completely different that will blow me away. Something like Phoenix Wright ;-)
