Posted November 4, 201311 yr I have been building this around six month. Not only this one, I made around 4 or 5 prototypes before this. My favourite gadget, the turret: And.... The radar Gallery in BS; http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=535905
November 4, 201311 yr Amazing job! The angles are realistic and the overall product is very accurate to the studio model. The only things I would modify are: 1. Overall Color-The Millennium Falcon had a great deal of dark red and even some dark tan areas splattered to break up the monotony of the grey. Tiles would be a very simple way to sufficiently represent this. 2. Turret Interior-I love the removable top section of the turrets, but I think it would be a nice touch to section the interior off with some round bricks to hide the rest of the empty shell and supports. And would it be possible to add a seat for the bottom turret without compromising the shape or structure of the ship? 3. It would be nice if the bottom ramp had the supports like in the film. I'm not sure how they were constructed in the UCS Falcon, but if the method is fairly simple, I'd add those in. Is there any chance that you would make an LDD file? I'd love to build this fantastic model for myself. Edited November 4, 201311 yr by montyofmusic
November 4, 201311 yr You have really done an excellent job of this, absolutely love it. Now if Lego could take a leaf out of your book. Edited November 4, 201311 yr by Legoman123
November 4, 201311 yr Good work hachiroku! Earlier you said you wouldn't complete this but I'm glad you did either way! I agree with Montyofmusic that you should put some color in it. Still some proportions are not all the way perfect, but you've got the overall shape good.

I watched A New Hope yesterday and removed the dark red plates. You can check this in this scene, in 1:28. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVLLbqSuiAg About the second point, I agree. I made that section in the last moment and could be improved easily, and add a seat, and control panels... Everything is possible!

Not to get too off topic, but where does the dark red in all of the replicas (LEGO and otherwise) come from? Also, check my first comment again---I added another point a little while ago. Also, check my first comment again---I added another point a little while ago. I think that the dark red is a agreement for teh merchandising. Just like the blue shirt for Bart Simpson in the toys. The Hasbro and Revell MF has dark red parts too. About the ramp, I wanted to put the supports, but there is no space to lift up the ramp and hide the supports. I don´t like the ramp, it´s very simple. Edited November 4, 201311 yr by hachiroku
November 4, 201311 yr Nice falcon, I would suggest giving it a little more rounded shape on the main body of the ship.
November 4, 201311 yr Nice rendition of the MF. I would of rather a glass piece for the cockpit though.
November 5, 201311 yr Hi thank you for sharing your MF MOC. I never get tired seeing MF MOCs. Unfortunately there are not many out there (compared to the iconic level of that ship). I think too many are too shy to post their MOCs or even not motivated to start one because there are many good to perfect Lego sets. I like the idea of mixing "system scale" with "UCS details". Regarding the MF colors. The best would be to mix old and new greys. Sometimes randomly, sometimes with pattern. Dino Edited November 5, 201311 yr by Darth Dino
November 6, 201311 yr I really like it, its got the look of the UCS, but doesn't look like it takes up nearly as much space. Great job!
November 8, 201311 yr Really great job, I like how detailed the whole ship is. The only thing I think might help is making the mandibles just a bit longer. They look a little short in the last pic you posted .
November 10, 201311 yr Author Well, bad/good news. Today, I was cleanning my room and I saw that the Indiana Jones set, 7623, uses this as base: This bricks are just perfect to a perfect base for the Falcon, they can work like this in the UCS version: So, faster than light, I made this with the Falcon And started this: Now, the structure is even stronger than the old one. And I made a semicircle with technic for the rear half. The old one wasn´t a perfect circle (like Nom Carver said). And I will add the improvements you said.
November 10, 201311 yr Beautiful and pretty accurate! I love the overall shaping and the cockpit. My only suggestion would be to give the ship more of an interior, but it looks like you'll be doing that with your new version.
