Yes.. I am slowly finishing some.. (I have about 3-4 complete ones) - And I have 218 days left until 'Brickvention 2016' in Melbourne :)

CaptainOwie above, did a great job of organising a bunch of us for the 2015 one, in Jan... and I think most of us are looking forward to making one even bigger and better!

Agreed

Just remember to allocate 142 of those days to testing.

There's a new version of my ROD module,

Nice colors! Let us know when you have a video so we can see it in action.

I see that your motor is accessible and prominent. I tend to build my GBC modules that way also. However another builder told me he does the opposite. He tries to hide his motors. I'm curious what others think? Should the motor be hidden, highlighted, or somewhere in between? What about other parts of the mechanism?

I like to build mine with the motor being easily accessible. Motors do burn out from time to time. Also the mechanism visible if possible. I display my GBC at events where inevitably some kids will want to know how it works. It is just much easier to show and tell with everything visible and also performance maintenance.

Is that a custom made 9V adapter for the battery box? Is the signal clean enough (true DC)?

with the many battery boxes one has ammassed so far, modding one would be ok.

In fact there's already some videos of it in all its versions, it was built some years ago:

Here is a video of the GBC from the Brisbricks Strathpine 2015 show. Most of the modules were by myself, Damien Kee made the tower and one dumper was by Russell Bates.

Thanks, Alan. I can see an emphasis on reliability in your Brisbane video. From that I infer that the pump that uses the 2 - 3 x 3 "L" thin liftarms must also be reliable? I wondered about that when I saw it on, if I recall correctly, LegoGBCs' video stream.

That lift arm module was a perfect runner... i also have a "tweak" that made all the difference and prevented jams in that module... I put in two rounded studs on the underside of the feed in... This gave balls a way to channel up and it litterally ran 16 hours without a single jam.... i will send more photos soon...

I have so many of them and it beats changing batteries for stationary displays. I did the battery box MOD a couple of years ago: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=84269

With my MOD, I can unscrew and move the jack aside and put in AA batteries if necessary but I won't be able to put the cover back on due to the wires and jack dangling out.

If you use a 9V switching power supply wall wart, the voltage will be at 9V. If you have an old transformer type wall wart, then the voltage could be a bit higher. I recently made a 12V to 9V converter so that I can power my GBC off a 12V lead acid battery power pack. I can run nonstop several hours outdoors where there is no AC outlet to plug in. Displaying GBC in a park can have its own challenges like rain, balls lost in the grass, blowing dirt getting in the GBC, kids with sticky fingers...

Here is a slight improvement i made to my stepper module. The agitator in the input bin seems to do a good job at feeding the balls.

You kill me.

Well, at least we had the record for a WHOLE 7 DAYS. Sheesh.

@ALittleSlow: you were trying to beat me with 154 because you knew I would try to go for 150.

Since I hadn't seen it here.

Thought I would just add this to the discussion. Nothing overly special, just a basic conveyor. The EV3 counts how many balls pass using the colour sensor.
