fungcie Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I've made another module : Zig Zag GBC from akiyuki, it's a clever design but still have problem, sometimes it jammed by feeding too many balls. Quote
Gee Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Cool. Is there no way to just have the balls backed up so that they can be fed 1 at a time? Quote
ALittleSlow Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 I think keeping an index is a great idea, but it's hard for a single person to keep up with it. What about putting the index on a wiki so the whole community can do updates? Quote
rollermonkey Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Here's one that popped up on the Special Themes board recently: Great Boardwalk Carnival http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=97364 (not mine, but just trying to help.) Quote
ALittleSlow Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I haven't seen any movement on the index, so I started one at http://www.brickwiki.info/wiki/Category:GBC_catalog, using some of the references that are in this topic already. I called it a catalog rather than an index because I don't think BrickWiki is a place to list every GBC MOC in the world, but it's a good place to document each type of GBC. The http://www.brickwiki.info/wiki/Clock_lift entry is maybe the best format. A wiki is probably a better place for this kind of thing, but it's no place for a GBC discussion. That should remain here, of course. It's a wiki. If you don't like it what I've done, fix it. On another note, did you know 2015 is the 10th anniversary of the GBC? It went on public display at Brickfest '05 (DC): http://news.lugnet.com/robotics/?n=23244. We're planning to make a big deal out of it at Brickworld Chicago 2015. We're still in the early stages. Got some ideas? One of my goals is to earn the GBC world record back from the Europeans. Quote
Captainowie Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I would actually argue that the 10th anniversary should be celebrated somewhat earlier, in October of this year. This thread http://news.lugnet.com/org/us/smart/?n=270 discusses the proposed standard. Quote
ALittleSlow Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 You're right, I'm fudging by using the year of the public debut of the first collaboration, not the year it was conceived. Quote
parda Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 (edited) My photo instructions of a simple yet kind of cool GBC model. Coming the 3rd version much better. http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=525902 Edited July 19, 2014 by parda Quote
dr_spock Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Here is our GBC display collobration at BrickFete 2014 in Toronto. Video filmed and edited by Iain Hendry. Quote

LegoGBC Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 (edited) There is a nice collection of modules in Phillip Verbeek's website http://pv-production...-modules-index/ Also, there are 19 more GBCs (currently) in my plus some tutorials in my (in case you want to add them to the wiki) Edited July 21, 2014 by LegoGBC Quote
dr_spock Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Wow, loving the space shuttle module at 1:46! Robert Turner is the creator of the space shuttle module. He's on flickr. Quote
dr_spock Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 My GBC modules ran all weekend at BrickFete. I found wear and tear on the new Friends soccer balls. The print seemed to wear off in very fine bits that coated the balls and modules. They wash off with towel and some spray cleaner. I have 70 balls to clean. I'm going to have a build a simple ball cleaning module. gbc wear and tear par dr_spock_888, sur Flickr Quote
ALittleSlow Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 dr_spock I found wear and tear on the new Friends Thanks for the report! What spray cleaner did you use? Quote
legomuppet9 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Well you know where to find a ball cleaner *cough* *cough* Quote
LegoGBC Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Well you know where to find a ball cleaner *cough* *cough* He said simple ball cleaning module Quote
Captainowie Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I don't know about you, but every module I make ends up being a lot less "simple" than I think it's going to be! Quote
snowvictim Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Archimedes Screw connected and Jigsaw modules. As they are not fully tweaked I'm not connecting these up to my main layout yet. Mind you, the inboxes and connections are a horror to build, worse than the actual mechanisms. You can see two 7mm Ribbed Hoses sticking out of the first level of the Sweeper module. These used to connect this module to the Wheel module that I moved to be after the Sweeper module rather than before. I'm looking forward to incorporating those with the Jigsaw somehow. That's the Sweeper module. Least faulty out of all the ones I have. Uses 1 M-Motor that runs on a chain system. The outbox is a simple double slope that slides the ball into a gap leading to the Wheel module. That's the Wheel Module connected to a Conveyor module. Pardon me for the mess in the background, I'm building a few train MOCs. Usually the parts are organised in boxes. The Conveyor module connects to a WIP Marble Run module that will then continue the GBC layout. Here are some WIPs. Of course most of you know these modules from the GBC God Akiyuky (blessed be his name). Nevertheless it's still a challenge to reproduce these. Damn, I wish I could come up with my modules... This is Akiyuky's Archimedes Screw Type 2. Getting the hose tweaked to make nice spins is very difficult. Might need to do some snipping. :/ This is the Lift module inspired by Maciejer1's lego-gbc-podnosnik (look it up on YouTube). This badboy isn't hooked up as I'm planning on extending it. Quote
dr_spock Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Added a module designed by Nico71 to my GBC. Quote
9v system Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Hi all I've been looking for gbc modules to build and I have found a particular interesting one but it is hard to see the mechanism. So could someone make some instructions for it? http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2742195 Thanks 9v system Quote
DrJB Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Very difficult to see how the machine is built and guess how it works. If you have a video, it might be easier to reverse-engineer the mechanism. Quote
9v system Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I can't find any videos of it running Quote
DrJB Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 There might be videos on youtube from that same event. If you can figure out which Lego event it was, then we may have a chance. Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 (edited) Im guessing the first red lift arm from the left is a gate that controls the flow. the 2nd one in is used to lift the balls up and out. The motor drives a 3:1 ratio, that axle has a 4 stud long beam that has a 9 stud long beam that opens up the first " control gate", there is another lift arm (uncertain of lengths 7?) that actuates a 6x1/2 beam for the lifting mechanism.
