Hmm. I think there is a "Cuusoo highlights" thread this may be better suited for...

But, thanks for sharing, regardless. For me, no - I wouldn't buy this. It would be way out of my price range. That said, I would definitely rather see a minifig-scale set rather than a micro one (which what I was expecting by clicking on the link). The sense of scale and authenticity are undeniable. But, for $600 dollars, I would expect nothing less.

I date myself by saying that back in my day one of the most sought after "toys" was 7-foot long aircraft carrier for GI JOE. I mean, who had room for that thing? That's what this set reminds me of, dominating even the death-star set. Who would believe that?

Even if this gets the supporters, there's no way it could make it through review.

No thanks. I think it's a bit fat myself, it should be a bit flatter.

I'm thinking of making one myself but I'm not sure how to balance actual scale (way too big) with minifig scale.

My take on that project was "badly shaped, badly structured badly budgeted and completely unreasonable as a production project in just about every way possible". I would love a Helicarrier. I do however accept that when we get one it will be a selectively compressed ship with a small playset buried inside. ala the 6211 Imperial Star Destroyer. Just looking at that heap of digitally stacked bricks makes me doubt if my coffee table could actually hold the real thing without collapsing under the weight.

How about making the helicarrier in sections. Each section could come with one of the Avengers and would be focused on a part of the helicarrier associated with them from the movie.

The Bridge with Nick Furry

The Lab with Bruce Banner/Hulk

The Cargo Hold with Thor

The Fans with Captain America

and so on. Just a way to break the sets up and have them connect to form the large set.

I'd love a helicarrier set myself, but this isn't it. As for a section based set, I imagine it would complicate the build possibly making it fragile. I imagine a set along the structure of the star wars venator attack cruiser would be the best approach to making a helicarrier set.

By the end would the set have the outward appearance of the actual Helicarrier? Or would it connect to the 2012 Hulk breakout set with technic pins and just be a playset like the recent Hoth Base?

I agree with the other comments, it should be much smaller in scale. Probably in the 800-2000 part range, which would put it around $100-200 US. Make it somewhere around the size of the Venator or the Tantive IV with 2 or 3 small playset compartments and plenty of outer detail. Preferably I would like to see something around 1100-1400 parts and $120-150 US, and no more than 60 cm long. A hangar area, a bridge area, and maybe a lab area are all you really need. As for minifigs... you might as well stick with SHIELD characters and just have Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Phil Coulson, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Captain America.

I wholehardedly agree with this. Just a simple playset that looks nice on a display shelf is all I need! However, shouldn't this whole topic be merged with the future super heroes discussion? I'm not an expert on these things though, so that question may be really stupid.
