Junpei Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I think it might have better performance if you support the 8L axle more by adding this some extra parts. Put a 4L stop axle where the blue dots are: And stack on 3 thin 3L liftarms (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6632) Did you not do that because it may jam the 24t gear in the portal axle? skppo Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I think it won't fit inside the rim. Look at the picture of the bottom. See how close the rim is to the hub? The bushings are actually inside the hole of the rim. Quote

Junpei Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Oh, sorry. I guess I should have known the rim offset wasn't that much, it makes much more sense now. Quote
zux Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 The 24 tooth gears and 3L pins provide the interface. But remember the 8L axle withs top may be pernamenlty bent cause of the sheer power I see you have one point of touch with an axle here. I have tested earlier, a bit different solution: use same 24T gear, but from both sides of the rim, with just two 3L pins in each of them. As a result RC rim is fixed on axle in two points and it doesn't slide too much into sides, some half bushes greatly improve this. Quote
Boxerlego Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) If you were to use the upgraded XL motor I believe the torque would be a total of 1037.N.cm Edit: My math was wrong on the gear ratio ..I flip the 24 gear with the 40 gear for max torque and step up the gear ratio up to 1:15.003. and that was not calculating the wheel torque too... Alasdair Ryan Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Water and electrics don't mix.... It has good off-roading capability's. Quote
JM1971 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Can certainly climb, monster conquers all :D Quote
z3_2drive Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Still baffled at how your 12t gears stay together after pulling a damn CAR! Awesome MOC Quote
Junpei Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Wow, incredible performance! I can't believe it can pull a car!! A bit off topic, but I'm surprised you still have your 6x6 assembled, do you keep all of your MOCs? Quote
Milan Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 It does not spin tires when pulling car? Ok, not pulling, but it moved the car...! Quote
T_Tank Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Holy smokes that little thing can pull a car o.o! Really surprised you can get enough torque out of those lego motors definitely awesome work. For kicks should take that with you to a group of rc rock crawler guys an see what they think of the power of lego! Quote
Tamas Juhasz Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) Great performance, congrats! I think the car pulling want's to be a joke. The question: was the car in a slope (even on a 0,5 % one) or was pushed by someone? Let's count a bit: if the car is ~ 2 kg, and g is 10, then you have 20 N vertical force from the weight. --> This is the theoretical maximum pulling force. 20 N doesn't moves such a car. Rockbrick Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 yes i'm sure it was a joke Still has got to be the ultimate crawler and 100% lego - you cannot get close to this unless you use after market tyres..... Quote
Boxerlego Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Simply Amazing! That was incredible watching it climb up that rock face with wet tires. I never doubt the fact that is was able to pull the car. Pulling the car is actually easier than you think. Watch this 92 year old guy pull this car by his teeth Quote

Watch this 92 year old guy pull this car by his teeth Don't compare a man to a 2 kg little construction. WEIGHT does matter! It's so simple. If you show me a video, where a 2 kg car pulls a ~ 1000 kg real one (with real road tyres, not extreme wheels), I believe. But it's physic. Anyway why we can't see 100% of Zblj's car in the video? Boxerlego Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) Can I compare the 2kg lego to a .008g ant? Edited November 20, 2013 by Boxerlego Quote
Zerobricks Posted November 22, 2013 Author Posted November 22, 2013 So while making the LDD model, I found a way to slightly change the gear ratio to get more speed, because frankly speaking there was enough torque as it was... So the gear ratio changed from 1:5,4 to 1:3,6 Now the monster is slightly faster than 41999, while creating much more torque and being more maneuverable despite the fact it has no diffs. I used a slightly different solution to move the 24 tooth gears half a stud closer to the main drive axle using the thing rod: And the model in LDD: DOWNLOAD LDD FILE: www.brickshelf.com/gallery/zblj/Trial/Monster/monster.lxf Quote
bricky300 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 You still didn't answer wether it can move a car or not... So? Quote
Zerobricks Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 Yes it can, I didnt fake it... Quote
JM1971 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 A F1 car can be pushed with one finger they are that well balanced but a road car I dunno how much force it takes to move one, 4 XL motors is a lot of torque and those wheels are very grippy, if the driveway is inclined just right then I think its possible.
