PsyKater Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 "Have you seen anyone suspicious? Did you see a werehen or a regular hen in your shop?"
Dragonfire Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 "May we please see pictures of your shop?" asks Avalanche. He smiles at Sorrow's comment, "Maybe Heckz will find himself some eternal youth potion. I bet he'd pay all his gold for it..."
Sandy Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 QM Note: Sorry, no update today. I've got to retake Gnomeo's picture, but I'm too tired, and must sleep.
PsyKater Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Amma meanwhile digs with the shovel she recently bought from Gnomeo in the soil around his shed to find hidden traces and / or treasures.
Sandy Posted November 19, 2013 Author Posted November 19, 2013 "Indeed. Master Gnomeo, was there anything unusual happening, before the crime? And also, is there anyone who you think might be responsible for ransacking your warehouse?" "Nyeh, that green rhymes-with-bitch made an appearance again, that was unusual but not unexpected. Oh, and one night not long ago there was an odd gathering here. I was just leaving my office, when I saw about half a dozen figures standing in a circle in the middle of the square. It was too dark to see who they were, and I'm as dumb as to stick my nose into nocturnal businesses. For all I know, it could've been Count Shadeaux holding a tea party, nyeh nyeh!" "What was stolen, and do you have any suspicions?" asks Avalanche. "I don't know if anything was stolen, but all my tools were thrown around a room as if a hurricane had swept across it. What kind of an immature moron would do such a thing?!" "Have you maintained contact with the other merchants about this entire ordeal?" "Sure, I've talked with my half-witted colleagues, for as much as I've been able to suffer them." "Has your warehouse been ransacked too? And did you clean it up?" "Nah, haven't got around to cleaning it up, myself. A few customers owe me, I'm waiting to see their stupid faces so I can order them to do the job, nyeh nyeh." "Have you seen anyone suspicious? Did you see a werehen or a regular hen in your shop?" "Nyehehe! That's what your investigations have resulted in? You think a chicken is behind this?! The best joke I've heard all day! Nyeheh!" "Alright, I think we've heard enough of this megablocks. Here's how his office looked yesterday morning." GNOMEO'S CASE Count all the tools in the photograph to see if any are missing. There's eight different types of tools. Amma meanwhile digs with the shovel she recently bought from Gnomeo in the soil around his shed to find hidden traces and / or treasures. Endgame Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 (edited) "May I see that picture for a second?" I borrow the painting, carefully dabbing on colored blotches of ink on it. "Thoughts, everybody?" Edited November 19, 2013 by Endgame
Palathadric Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Seeing Stigveladi dig up some gold, I quickly dig with my Magic Shovel as well...outside that is. "I counted the bright yellow shovel, and not that one. It's not a shovel I'm quite sure." "Also, how come you only marked a few of the hammers?"
Endgame Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 "These eyes aren't what they used to be..." I mumur. I've adjusted my counts a bit. Do they match up with everyone's counts?
Palathadric Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 "I'm pretty sure that the thing that you thought was either a shovel or a hammer is in fact a wrench. Furthermore, there appears to be another wrench in the barrel right next to that box. I believe there are two hammers on the table, lying next to each other. There are also two hammers in the barrel with the pick axe above the table. There is another black shovel in the box under the window. There is a wrench in the window. There is another wrench in the barrel on the left and a wrench hanging over the door. I'm not sure if the last item on the rack over the door is a shovel or a hammer casting a weird shadow. 8 Pick Axes - check 15 Grey Shovels, 4 Black Shovels, 1 Yellow Shovel = 20 Shovels - check 10 Crow Bars - check 11 Wrenches - err, I think I count 14 5 Black Magnifying Glasses, 2 Unique Magnifying Glasses = 7 Magnifying Glasses - check 10 Hammers - err, I count 9, but some of the "wrenches" I spotted may actually be hammers. 4 Brooms - check That's 7 different kinds of tools. I think there is a Magic Compass on the desk too. "I'm quite certain about 13 of the wrenches. The only one that I think may actually be a hammer and not a wrench is the one in the barrel at the far left of the room. What do you think it is?"
Dragonfire Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) "Umm...there are eight pickaxes and four brooms. And I count nine hammers as well. There are two brown tiles on the table- are they tools? That honeypot sure looks suspicious. It can't be a coincidence- we saw it at Portia's as well and then we saw a bumblebee costume at Fabian's...maybe they're connected..." contributes Avalanche. OOC: Curse my timezone! Palathadric Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) Sorry, I wanted to keep something for everyone to do, but Endgame had to botch up my plan. "Do you fellows think it's 14 Wrenches and 9 Hammers, or 13 Wrenches and 10 Hammers?" Edited November 20, 2013 by Palathadric
PsyKater Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 "Me too. Well, I have to say that you almost did a very good job with your color marker there. If only you had marked all tools. But I can only agree to the assumptions we made."
Dragonfire Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 "I also agree. I believe that there are 9 hammers and 14 wrenches, though."
PsyKater Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 "Looking at the picture again it seems too round to be a hammer. I'd see it as a wrench now."
-obelix- Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 "I also agree. I believe that there are 9 hammers and 14 wrenches, though." "I agree with that count as well, I've spotted 9 hammers and 14 wrenches. Those are aside from the light grey thing on the table, which I suspect might be another wrench..."
Sandy Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 "I agree with that count as well, I've spotted 9 hammers and 14 wrenches. Those are aside from the light grey thing on the table, which I suspect might be another wrench..." "Lemme see that!" Gnomeo yanks the picture out of Thalion's hands. "Yeah, that's a wrench, alright! What's your final tally?" "That would be... umm... five plus nine... minus three... remove one and add it to... Err, dear Monk Pretzel would like to answer your question."
Dragonfire Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 "The final tally? Oh- 9 hammers, 15 wrenches, 8 pickaxes, 20 shovels, 10 crowbars, 7 magnifying glasses, 4 brooms and 2 strange brown tiles- but I'm not sure whether they are actually tools..." answers Avalanche.
Palathadric Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 "The final tally? Oh- 9 hammers, 15 wrenches, 8 pickaxes, 20 shovels, 10 crowbars, 7 magnifying glasses, 4 brooms and 2 strange brown tiles- but I'm not sure whether they are actually tools..." answers Avalanche. "Yes, that sounds about right: 9 Hammers 15 Wrenches 8 Pickaxes 20 Shovels 10 Crowbars 7 Magnifying Glasses 4 Brooms and 1 Compass? Is that a Compass on the desk, Mr. Gnome? Otherwise, I'd go for either the quill, although that sounds a bit ridiculous. Alternatively, there are two telescope-like objects in the picture, but they are posing suspiciously as torches, so I doubt they can actually be the tools of which Gnomeo is referring. I'll settle for the Compass."
Palathadric Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 "If the rest of you are not okay with my list of tools, then say so, otherwise hold your peace. I'm not convinced about the Compass, but it's as good a guess as any." "I'd say 13 wrenches and 10 hammers." "I think we've already firmly established that your eyes are not something that we can go by."
