After what had seemed like an eternity, the storm had died down. The approaching cloud of sand had covered the entire horizon, and we were right in the center of one of the desert seas. If we hadn't been in the middle of a firefight with the Imps, we would have seen it coming and been able to reach cover in time, but something in the area had been wreaking havoc on our comms. It was probably why the Black Sun had chosen this location for their hideout... if it hadn't been wiped out. From all the screeching of metal and violent impacts to our tank, you would have thought I were in the middle of one of those enormous demolition droids they use on Coruscant. Luckily the hull had held, and I had survived the storm. I had been in the bottom of a large canyon, and the sandstorm had pretty much whipped everything around, and dropped it back in the same spot. There was debris everywhere.

There were still some relatively intact vehicles, thankfully, and I had been searching for functioning power cells and repulsors. There was a scattering of parts from the vehicles in the battles - Imperial TIE fighters, Rebel SoroSuub Repulsor Tanks, what was left of a Corellian snub fighter - and tons of debris. I had yet to come across any other survivors, and counted myself incredibly lucky - the Force had been with me.

The eyeball's cockpit was still relatively functional, as well as two of the repulsor wings from the tanks. I had managed to cobble together a TIE Ugly that should be able to reach civilization. The hull still seemed to be intact, althought I wouldn't need space vacuum integrity, just enough to keep the sand out.

I couldn't believe the transparisteel had survived the storm, but that made this a valuable piece of hardware. Just tack on some Y-wing engines or X-wing S-foils, and I'd have a perfectly functional TIE-Ugly.

I had been relieved to see the Jawa, It was incredible how quickly it was on the scene - it's like they have a sixth sense for scavenging. I had discovering the functioning repulsor wings while the Jawa was scavenging, which would let me move the eyeball cockpit back to town where I could work on an Ugly. The Jawa tried to say he had scavenging rights to everything as it was on his "land". He traded those rights for the chassis of my R2 unit pretty quickly though, and left me alone.

Just a couple more hours, and this thing will be operational. Then I can search for any more survivors and see if I can locate this Black Sun hideout.

I used 20 additional parts for this build. 3 extra base plates, 1 jawa head, 1 brown hood, 1 droid head, 1 2x4 light bley tile, 2 2x6x1 light bley curved slopes (Tank cockpit), 1 white 6x8x2 inverted slope (Tank cockpit) 6 8x6x1 black curved inverted slopes (Repulsor wings), 1 additional 6x6x1 2/3 dark bley TIE bracket (Repulsor wings), 1 windshield piece (Tank), and 2 6x6x2 octagonal hemisperes (TIE cockpit)

Wow, I really like the feel of the mess left after the sandstorm. The four big builds are nice and also the leftover parts scattered around work well. A lot of things going thanks to the figures, BUT I'm sad to inform you that you forgot to doublecheck the rules after their change - now each figure counts as multiple parts (depends on how many it's built from - torso + arms + hands is one piece) so Jawas is 5 extra pieces for the cloak. Also free sigfigs apart from yours were removed, so I guess you'll have quite a challange recreating this with only two figs since you used a lot of other extra parts.

Yeah, MstrOfPppts is right. I'm really going to miss all the extra minifigs you have in the scene. They really make the story work. Good luck in modifying it!

MstrofPpts - Thanks for the heads up! Good thing I posted this one a day early.

MKJoshA - I liked having the other sigfigs in, although I can't figure out where your sigfig's head is from.

I got it from the Pirate Brickmaster DK Book/Set though I know it's used in other nondescript settings within different Lego themes (Pirates, City, Castle, etc.)
