i think the main reason this looks so awkward is that a tower this size doesn't posses the same architecture of a building 3-4 stories tall (the intended height/design of the CC). consequently, the result is something too unnatural to the eye.

Exactly! With so many CC, you have a "too much" building. The sckyscrapers have lighter frontage, with a more vertical design, contrary to this CC which has a dominant horizontal.

So, CC is not made for being a sckyscraper, or at least in this form.

I dont' like it.it's kinda boring...maybe up to 6 or 7 levels it is ok. but 18..no way

I know I'm (really) late coming to this party, but here you go.

Yep, this was from BrickFest. Steve Witt provided all the pieces, and it was a community thing. You could stop by the LEGO table and build a portion of this. It was more or less just a fun thing for con attendees to do, and Steve wanted to see how big he could make this.

So it wasn't really a MOC, just an activity to pass the time with. :) And an opportunity for those who don't own the Cafe Corner to see it, touch it, and work with the pieces.
