Rick Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 May one vote for one's own entry? You can, although some may consider it "not done". Quote
sgeureka Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Call me dumb-struck for the great ideas and implementations people could come up with in that short amount of time since the (new) contest rules were revealed. I hope that if there is another winter village contest next year, eurobricks makes new unforeseeable rules again. Quote
CarsonBrick Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I think this is a real fantastic contest and fun to enter in. I look forward to participating, however, I'm really not a big fan of the voting. I just feel like certain entries can easily get overlooked and others get voted for more because they see other people voting for that person. I generally think it's best when there is a group of judges who all give their vote non-subjectively. Otherwise I think this is a great contest and look forward to the next one! Quote
sgeureka Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 ^^I haven't had bad voting experiences in past contests. Few people would do the spread sheet analyses and vote late to have a strategic effect on the results. Also, I won something when I was a total newbie here and people didn't know me. I am a 100 percent certain that the 3 winners (out of 54 people) will deserve their prize. Too bad for the next few ranks who also had great entries, but then they certainly didn't get overlooked in the voting process for your stated reasons. Quote
Commander Turtle Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I just want to thank the mods for the size limit in this challenge - it's made it so much more competitive and allowed all the small builders to get involved. Really appreciate it. Quote
Paperballpark Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I can't understand how some people seem to have a bit of brain-fade when it comes to giving their scores out - I've seen two scores now which added up to 6 rather than 5. Quote
BrickBloke Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I can't understand how some people seem to have a bit of brain-fade when it comes to giving their scores out - I've seen two scores now which added up to 6 rather than 5. Well, hopefully, those votes won't get counted! Although surprised at some of the choices for voting (as I feel they don't really capture the spirit of the 'Christmas Market'), I am glad that I have at least one point (more than I thought I'd get!!). My son likes my entry, and that is all that matters to me! Quote
