hehe, there are actually a lot of small stories like this all over the layout. In this case the dwarves are pissed off because the sword they bought at there doesn't fulfill their understanding of quality weapons. Now they want their money back ... So next year in Antwerpen you can have a look at the real thing and see what else is going on there

That's great! I love that there's smaller stories within it- just like a normal town! Antwerpen eh? Haven't been there... Yet...

If we're able to amass a lot of people to join in next year.. we could increase the size & we might be able to get a nicer spot..

You all should join :)..but it's still almost a full year away :(.

Ow & to comment on Thorshaven.

Really looking forward to see it grow & evolve.

really like those interiors..nice a small, as they should be.

The gate reminds me of Omurtag gate. Maybe the same designer?

Did we see that fort(?) on the water already? If not, pictures please!

thanks a lot guys, hopefully there will be a lot more to this within the months to come ...

@Lord V.: Antwerp is just across the channel mate, you board a ship to Dunkirque and the you're almost there, takes me four hours to drive wich is really okay by German standards. Would take me 4 hours to Berlin, Munich or Hamburg too. So why don't you come over and then travel to where it's warmer?

@syn: yeah man, I really like those interiours too, but it does take a lot of bricks one could use otherwise. Hope that you Belgian guys can add something more to the project next year, an island in the harbor or some more ships would be cool

@yooha: haha, the architect may have fled to Thorshaven like so many other crafstmen from all over Mitgardia, who knows. As for the Kaliphlin embassy, that's DM's work, maybe he should take some more pics and add them to the thread

You're tempting me. I can't promise anything, but if I can organise it so I can be there, I will be there.

As long as you promise you don't drool onto the bricks, I'll take the whole city (plus the new modules I havn't shown yet) to Antwerpen again!

@kabel. you should contact Damaximus.. he's up to something :). (he'll reply slow.. since he now has time to split between girls & lego).

@ Tomsche : you should come & have a loot anyways..maybe collaborate ?

I always visit the fair as a Belug member, and have read about the layout.

But my skills are to novice to undertake such collaborations, not to mention I have to haul a heap of kids in my wake ;-)

Alright, it was a popular request that I show more of module four. So I went out to see which unessecary sets contain dark greeen slopes so I could finally finish this module that has been sitting on my desk for nearly half a year now. And voila, public pressure helped to finally get this thing done:

Module IV: Rich merchant house and Kaliphlin Kontor

In case you were wondering why some of the water was green and had studs sticking out, module IV + Rose of Asgarda. Giving the Rose of Asgard a harbor was actually the incentive which started this whole Thorshaven project. And not I can't stop building on this city!

Please excuse the picture quality, but light was really terrible today and I just wanted to get this done anyway.

Thanks for the pictures kabel  The dark green house looks amazing, the battleaxe is a great touch.

The stone house is also excellent, the second story doors and crane especially

Thanks mate. The stone and the dark green are actually one house though, with the dark green being the living quarters and the stone part the Kontor.

Thanks man, I actually take a lot of inspiration from my hometown, although I don't see it as often as I'd like to although I only live 1,5 hours away from it ...

thanks guys!

@gideon: the orange and brown is my favourite too, that's why I had posted it before. I also love the green color combo though.

@yooha: I havn't been to Amsterdam yet, but my inspiration for this is everything Hanseatic (which I've always seen as the basis for Mitgardia). So you can actually find these kind of buildings all across the North and Baltic Seas from Gent to Riga, although my personal inspiration are actually Gdansk in Poland and Stralsund in a part of Germany that once belonged to Sweden.
