Siegfried Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I second what The Kid said. I played the demo on the PS3 last night and I was impressed. The force is done really well and the graphics are just stunning. I think the apprentice looks better in Soul Calibur III though. Quote
iamded Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Anybody know what the PS2 version will be like? You can see that on the website. First, click here. Then click on Media Gallery (at the top). Go to Web Docs / Videos. Select 'The TFU Experience' to see what The Force Unleashed is like on other consoles (Wii, PS2, PSP, Nintendo DS). Hope that helped. ~Peace Quote
Pencoin Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I haven't touched the game yet but i've read the comic and the story is brilliant some intresting relevations. Quote
The Rancor Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Just finished playing through the demo (a 1.4gb download!). In a word: epic. The gameplay is stunning, and you can pretty much chuck anything at anything else and watch the fireworks. For example, two TIE Fighters were closing in on me so I picked up a crate, flung it into the air and took out one. The ensuing explosion took out the other. A third came at me, so I bent a piece of steel structure outwards, and it flew into it. The demo itself put you on an Imperial Star Destroyer that is under attack by General Rahm Kota, a Jedi. After a brief opening cut-scene which is nothing we haven't seen in trailers (apart from when Vader gives you the mission), we are shown the Rogue Shadow landing in the hangar of said ISD. Then you move through the ISD, taking out Kota's men and Stormtroopers alike. The demo ends when you destroy an AT-ST by slicing it in half. Down the middle. Sadly, we never get to meet Kota, but that can be forgiven when the gameplay is so frakkin' awesome. It all just feels so right; the lightsaber fighting, the force powers. The controls are slightly fiddly at first, but you get the hang of them quickly. Oh, and the graphics and sound are brilliant as usual. Also, we are shown a new trailer at the end of the demo. Demo score: 10/10 Bold: That's funny, 2 TIE fighters didn't go at me in the demo, and I wonder where you bent the steel Crush Bonus Destruction Bonus Imperial Stormtrooper Crush Bonus Imperial Stormtrooper Crush Bonus Imperial Stormtrooper Crush Bonus Destruction Bonus Imperial Stormtrooper Crush Bonus Imperial Stormtrooper Crush Bonus Imperial Stormtrooper ^ My PS3 tried to fit this all on the screen at once ^ The above was caused by a fully charged Force Blast, I the first large hanger with lots of Stormtoopers and Rahm's men. Loads of troopers were flung in the air like ragdolls and boxes rebounded and exploded everywhere. It's a shame because it's much harder to do this in the Sith Lord difficulty, although I still completed it easily Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I played the demo as well and I have to say it is very, very good, hell I played it 3 times and I didn't get bored! The new Havok engine is great, flinging random items at stormies has never been so fun. " That's funny, 2 TIE fighters didn't go at me in the demo, and I wonder where you bent the steel " Perhaps he played it on a another difficulty...? Quote
The Kid Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I played on the two hardest difficulties. The TIE bit is when Juno tells you that the Empire has set a TIE squadron to patrol the area. There's a bit of steel framework on the walkways you can bend, and the two TIE Fighters were not simultaneously but rather in rapid succession TK Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Aaahh yes I know the bit you mean. I've played it on every difficulty about twice now. I can't wait for the actual game to come out. The best bit of the demo had to be taking out stormtroopers by throwing a TIE bomber at them. Quote

Andrex Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Excuse me, coming through~ *VWOOSH* Yeees! I'm really unsure about Force Unleashed. Reviews thus far claim it is incredibly short, yet I'm loving all the OT references and locations. I don't have a PS3 either, only a Wii =/. Wii controls apparently rule, but the Official Nintendo Magazine claimed their end time was 5:56 hours.. I could get the PSP version, but I think for once I'd want to choose cinematics over portability for a title such as this. What about you guys? -- Andrex Quote

I also need money for Power Miners and Pirates and Star Wars and a few City sets (Man, I feel so much less mature now! ) Quote
darkrebellion Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 (edited) I just played the demo four days ago and everything I can say is: AWESOMEEEEE. I played the demo in the PS3 of a friend (I own the wii) and I just was so excited by the fact everything flows well and this just mean the game is going to rock! I am planning to buy the PS3 (Not exactly for the game but I am just waiting so much the God of War 3 ) and if I buy it I will buy this game for it (I hope I can manage the wii version too (If I get the PS3 of course ) because the gameplay looks so cool (I just love my wii ) but all the sets of this year will leave my wallet with a bigggg hole ) My favorite part of the demo is when you cut the AT-ST at a half and when I made an R2 unit explode . Another think I like is the fact that when you brake some glass, an iron door close the space (Just like in episode 3 ). Edited September 3, 2008 by darkrebellion Quote

Darth Jokar Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 well bad news on this game again release pushed back to december Quote
Oky Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 (edited) OMG! The Wii version looks like so much fun! I can't wait to actually force-push Rebel scum around with my hand and slam them into the ground! Also, that duel mode is just what me and my friend need! The character selection is awesome! I hope they have Grievous! well bad news on this game again release pushed back to december Shut up, Darth Jokar, no one believes you! Edited September 10, 2008 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
Darth Jokar Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 well i dont care what you think i went to game stop to reserve it and they told me it was pushed back to december. Quote
Justin2224 Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Ok, Darth Jokar, I just checked Gamestop.com, and it says that they ship the 16th, and I reserved my copy this afternoon and, well, they didn't say that it was pushed back. And in all the other forums you havent had the most reliable info, so, please just tell the truth. Quote
Darth Jokar Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 well i know im not lying but i got lied to so somebody gonna get fired at game stop thanks for the info Quote
iamded Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Ngrrr! It's the 16th today. But since we're a day early, we must push through yet another day until it's the 16th over there, and the 17th here. And then we shall claim the prize we have been waiting for for so, so very long! I don't know why I'm making such a big deal of this though, as I own the only thing it's not released on, the PC. ~Peace Quote
The Rancor Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Here, the game's out Friday from GAME stores UK! Quote
SWMAN Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I pre-ordered mine back in May when I was buying something else from Circuit City, and because I was going to have moved and be living in a new house by the time it came out, I just went ahead and decided to have it shipped instead of doing in store pickup. I figured if I was really lucky, it would be like the same deal as the 7th Harry Potter book where if you pre-ordered it was at your door the day it came out. I just found out that I am not that lucky. My order status for the game says that the estimated arrival is September 30. A full two weeks after it comes out. By that time, i would have been able to walk into any store and easily buy it. Now, it hasn't actually shipped yet and hopefully will later today, so by that time the status might change to something reasonable. I am going to be really mad though if I have to wait two weeks. I was planning on getting it either Friday or Saturday and then play it all weekend. So, now that I am done with my little rant, it looks like an amazing game. I got it for the Wii, and I am super excited about the controls. I have read some negative reviews, saying that the controls on the Wii are kind of hard to use and the gameplay is a little weak. Also, due to the Wii's limited graphic capacity and such, I guess there are some graphic errors that are noticeable. The graphics on the Wii also aren't going to look as nice as the 360 or PS3, but they will still be great. I guess in general the game is also kind of short. Still, I am really excited and the story looks really cool. I am fine with the game being a little short, because there are 5 different endings to the game depending on how you play, so I will be able to get all of them. I also don't play a lot of Video games, so I usually take a while longer than the average person. Plus, the Wii has 5 more levels than the 360 or PS3 and the ability to play with a friend. I was a little hesitant about the controls because I am not a huge fan of the Wii when it comes to 1st person games and was hesitant about 3rd. I tried playing COD 3 on it before, and got so frustrated I quit after an hour. But, just this weekend I rented Prince of Persia Rival Swords, which is 3rd person, and it was really easy to control and use the person. The only thing I am a little worried about is the fact that it seems like on the Wii the controls are temperamental. Sometimes your person will do something even when you don't want him to, and other times he won't at all. The main controller is the the lightsaber in the game, so I am just worried that when I really need the slash or stab, it won't. All of that aside, it still looks like an amazing game that will be fun to play. Hopefully it does not take two weeks to get the game, but if it does, it does. Oh, iamded. If you really want to get the Force Unleashed, it is a great excuse to buy yourself a system. 360s are only $199 in the US, so now is the time to buy. Quote
Adam Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I have the game (Wii and PS3), and I must say, I'm a little disapointed. However, it is a good game, and my opinion shouldn't stop you from getting it. Quote

However, it is a good game, and my opinion shouldn't stop you from getting it. Its the PS3 version way outstanding above the Wii version? Because I can buy the game today for the Wii but for the PS3 I need to wait like 3 weeks until I get the PS3 itself . And I have another question: The Wii version does have good gameplay? or it is lame? Quote
The Rancor Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 The Wii version does have good gameplay? or it is lame? 9 out of 10 Wii games (at least it seems to me) are babyish or for too many people (Ican't always have parties) Quote
