SWMAN Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 9 out of 10 Wii games (at least it seems to me) are babyish or for too many people (Ican't always have parties) That is true, but when it comes to first/third person games on the Wii, they aren't really babyish. I don't think you would consider killing stormtroopers with a lightsaber babyish. Plus, the campaign is single player, so you don't need a party. But, if you have a friend, they were smart enough to had a feature where you could duel each other as Jedi, which no other platform has. I have read some things that say the controls are neat buy get a little old and that there are a few graphic problems, but I am excited about the Wii version. After watching a gameplay review, I feel a little mislead about the graphics and such. You can't just pick up anything to use as a weapon, and you can't really destroy everything either. The people don't react as cool as I though they would, but it still looks like a cool game. Quote
Adam Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Its the PS3 version way outstanding above the Wii version? Because I can buy the game today for the Wii but for the PS3 I need to wait like 3 weeks until I get the PS3 itself . And I have another question: The Wii version does have good gameplay? or it is lame? Well, let's say this: PS3=Good graphics Wii=Great gameplay It may seem kiddish, but swinging that 'mote around really is fun! 9/10? Have you ever played the Godfather? Quote
Oky Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 (edited) 9/10? Have you ever played the Godfather? Or Red Steel, or No More Heroes, or Call of Duty, or ... ? Seriously, though, I agree that some/most of the first person games are pretty good. I like Metroid. I'm gonna get TFU for the Wii today and am pretty excited! The only other options for me would have been PS2 and PSP, both of which would have had about the same graphics as the Wii, but not as great of a gameplay and none of the 5 extra levels or the duel mode. Although the PSP has the Historic Missions, they are probably not as good as the Wii's duel mode. Besides, the PSP is a far too small format for such an epic game. The Rancor Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 (edited) I get extra Force Powers with my Force Unleashed (It's a bonus from predording with GAME) The earliest any member of the public can possible get TFU is tomorrow for the UK! It seems weird to hear people wondering whether they want to go into town and pick it up when it's not released. PS3 and Wii both have their strong ponts and weak points (I have both). However, I must admit I barely ever play on the Wii because more PS3 games take my fancy. I have a confession to make - I CAN'T STAND freakin' Super Mario! Faramir Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 (edited) I would't consider myself to be a "gamer" but I really like TFU for Wii so far. True, the game has its flaws, (graphics, no AI for multiplayer... although there is multiplayer!!) But I'd really recommend it for the amazing controls and storyline. I'm not done with it yet, but I'm really looking forward to the rest of it! 9/10? Brawl alone should knock 8 points off that... SWMAN Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Has anybody pre-ordered there's and gotten it already. I think it will get here this week, but I still have no tracking number or anything and it says it shipped on Monday and won't arrive until the 30th. Quote
The Kid Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Hopefully picking this up at lunchtime tomorrow to play it straight after work Looking forward to it, it does indeed look amazing. By the way, I sold Brawl for this. No, it's not sacrilege. TK Quote
SWMAN Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 The game came today in the mail, a lot earlier than expected. I just played through the tutorial to get a quick feel for the game. It is awesome so far. The controllers are pretty easy and fun. The tutorial gives the basics of how to do everything from moving to the most powerful force powers. I can't wait to get playing tomorrow night and into the weekend. The one thing that might be a problem is that it seems like there isn't any way to change camera angle in 3rd person view on the Wii without moving the character. Quote
Faramir Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 By the way, I sold Brawl for this. No, it's not sacrilege. How can you sleep at night? Quote
SWMAN Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 How can you sleep at night? Brawl is only really fun if you have people to play with. I like it, but it is like many Wii games as in it is only a party game. The single player it weak and kind of boring. It is only really fun to play with other people. Quote

I totally agree with you SWMAN, the Super Smash Bros. Brawl is fun but when play with someone I own it but I not usually play it without anyone else. I prefer by far awesome games like Super Mario Galaxy and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (My favorite game in the Wii and second one of my all time favorites (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is my favorite game )). JimBee Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 My neighbor got it for PS3, and I played it. It's a good game overall, but it gets boring. Once you play it through the story, you won't want to play it again. I don;t think I'll be getting it for Wii. But flinging around Stromtroopers never loses it's fun. Quote

I disagree that it is a game you won't want to play again. There are two different endings to the game, depending on how you play. Part of the fun will being trying to figure out how to get both of the endings. Once I beat it I won't just sit down and start playing again, but I will definitely hit this game up a bunch. I am also a pretty slow video game player, so it will take me a while. I am finally gonna play the actual game tonight, after getting home last night, finding it at my house, and playing through the tutorial. On a side note, I am not a big Galaxy fan. I played it and it is a little too confusing for me. One of those games where you can run around everywhere and never figure out what you are supposed to do. Edited September 20, 2008 by SWMAN Quote
CF Mitch Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 (edited) My god this game is awesome I bought it today and started playing it immediately when I got home, those force powers are amazing And the graphics are very cool as well Just one problem I'm already stuck somewhere I'm at that garbage planet, I think it's called Raxus Prime, anyway, after you beat the gigantic robot (Junk Titan, I believe) I need to cross some 'chasm' as the game calls it... but I can't figure out how Could someone help me out with this ? Greetings, CF W Edit: Never mind, I already figured it out Edited September 19, 2008 by CF WeaZZel Quote
JoeMI6 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Got it today and loving it so far. It can get a bit repetitive at times, but the Wii controls keep things fresh. Although I'm not usually a fan of QTEs, the ones in TFU so far are intense and quite cinematic. I think if the game keeps up what I've seen so far, it should be awesome. Quote

I got the game yesterday, been playing it almost nonstop since, and i'm at Imperial Raxus Prime. I hate the Star Destroyer. Quote

Lord Thrawn Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 It was over very quickly but luckily you can play through again for max force power by the end. Quote
hewkii9 Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Oh yes, the game was far too short. That room with the Shadow Guard [don't they look like Cylons?] right before you fight Vader in the Death Star was awesome though. Black lightsaber's in there on top of the highest laser emitter. And PROTOTYPE in the insert code place lets you play as Proxy. Quote
The Rancor Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 MANDALORE lets you mplay as Rahm Kota Quote
SWMAN Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 I have a slight problem. I am on Raxus Prime the second time and have made it all the way to the boss. While playing it, for some reason he suddenly disappeared with about half the health left. There was no cut-scene, he was just gone, and I couldn't do anything. I had to start over. Anyone else have this problem. Also, when I save and then go back to that save, it takes me back to the beginning of the level instead of where I saved. How do I get back to where I saved. Quote

SWMAN Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 You can only start back at the beginning of the level, even if saved. No idea what happened with the boss, though. That is really dumb. Then, there's no reason to have the save game feature during the game. I wouldn't mind a ton if all of the troops were gone when you started the level again, because I don't really want to have to fight through a hundred storm troopers every time I have to quit and go do something. I have no idea what happened with the boss either. I used one of my force powers, he went flying, and the next thing I knew he was gone and I couldn't find him. Quote
The Kid Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Odd; the game lets me restart from the last time it saved (i.e. mid-level) when I quit/die. This is on PS3, are you on Wii? TK Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Got it for free with my new XBOX Pro (Thank you, Future Shop!). Haven't started it yet, but my friend beat it in 8.7 hours. Quote
