MacGyver Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 (edited) Hello! I'm posting a little bit bigger moc this time. I decided to build it because I wasn't satisfied with this year's winter set. Firstly, I intended to build something similar in size, but the final product is 3 – 4 times bigger. Design started in LDD and lasted for about 1 – 2 months, then I ordered all the necessary bricks. Finally, after last package has arrived, I was able to build this Victorian era house, covered in snow. Diorama is supposed to be placed in the late 19th century, on 24th of December: In front of the house, people are singing Christmas carols. You can see that children have already built a big snowman: Details of the house: Snowy christmas tree on the terrace: Roof: There's a restaurant in the first floor. Outside, on the pavement, housewife is showelling the snow: As you can see from upside down, she almost shovelled the whole pavement already : Inside of the house. As mentioned before, there is a restaurant in the first floor (they set a pretty good decoration this year ) and there's sleepy boy's room in the second Attic is full of wooden junk: Despite the fact, that Santa clause as we know him today (red clothing), didn't exist at that time, I had to put him in And then comes the night on 24th of December: Ofcourse, he stopped by the house: Kids will be pretty happy I guess Details of the grandmother clock and street lamp: And for the end, 2 pictures with everything together: That's it for now Edited November 14, 2013 by MacGyver Quote
Trevor_F Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 That is one lovely house. I love the snow covering over everything. The sidewalk may be my favorite detail. I would love to one day build something like this. Quote
eurotrash Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 What a great building! There's so much pleasing detail wherever you look. I particularly like the snow-draped roof, balcony and the facade, but it's the interior that really stands out. It's full of good design. It's like something out of a Dickens novel and thanks for sharing it with us! Quote
snaillad Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Great diorama. I like the pavement area, staggered height roof and of course how everything is covered in snow! The red windows are very fitting for a winter themed building. Well done! Quote
PsyKater Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Wow, this is really a nice moc with a lot of details. Quote
Wodanis Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Love the interior and the effort you have put in. Could I make on recommendation MacGyver? You have used the red clip pieces on the bottom of the exterior of the house to hold the flange pieces. Perhaps you should switch those pieces around with the top ones? (So that it doesn't look like its bending the parts?) All in all a great MOC. Quote
Emma Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 This is lovely! My favorite aspects are the colour scheme, the roof design, and the detailed facade. Oh, and all the snow! ♫ I'm dreaming of a white Christmas ♫ Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Wonderful MOC! I like the inner details the cat on the stairs and the fantastic victorian roof! Well made! Quote
4everLego Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 It's all fantastic!! The junk in the attic is the icing on the cake for me! Who thinks of that for a MOC? Awesome! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Beautiful creation 'MacGyver', the snow effects, sleigh, interior and wonderful Victorian exterior ........just the bomb ! Brick On 'MacGyver' ! Quote
SwissBrick Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 WoW! This is excellent work MacGyver! When looking at it, I wished it would be a modular.... If TLG released it, I'd buy two... PS: You should have waited to release these images until the next WV contest, you'd have won Thanks a lot for sharing and inspiring! Quote
New_guy Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Tremendous MOC! I love the roofline details and the sidewalk. Thanks for sharing so many details with us. Too bad this couldn't be an entry in the Winter Village Contest. Quote
tkatt Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 The snow being shoveled off the sidewalk is great. You did a great job with the interior details. Its also pretty neat how you added tiles to the snow for Santa's sleigh tracks. Quote
splatman Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 St. Nick is kinda Horsey. I know, if you have no deer, use horses. Just checked Bricklink; I did not know TLG did not make deer. Oh deer. It must be the boy who stashed all that lumber in the attic. He can't wait to become a carpenter. He musta put tools on his C-mas wish list. I'll check this thread on 12/25 to see if he finds any under the tree. Quote
kevin8 Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Great details on the facade. I like this MOC. Very Inspirating... Quote
MacGyver Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) Thank you all! Love the interior and the effort you have put in. Could I make on recommendation MacGyver? You have used the red clip pieces on the bottom of the exterior of the house to hold the flange pieces. Perhaps you should switch those pieces around with the top ones? (So that it doesn't look like its bending the parts?) I've tried many different shapes (including your suggestion), but in my opinion, this tipe works best… WoW! This is excellent work MacGyver! When looking at it, I wished it would be a modular.... If TLG released it, I'd buy two... PS: You should have waited to release these images until the next WV contest, you'd have won file:///C:/Users/Erika/AppData/Local/Temp/msohtmlclip1/01/clip_image001.gif Thanks a lot for sharing and inspiring! You're very kind, but I think I wouldn't qualify as this MOC has about 4000 bricks, all of the winter contests so far were to build something similar in size with official ones Edited November 16, 2013 by MacGyver Quote
fhomess Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 I fell like the undead snowman is just waiting for Santa to leave to wreak havoc on the peacefully sleeping family. Quote
MacGyver Posted November 16, 2013 Author Posted November 16, 2013 (edited) I fell like the undead snowman is just waiting for Santa to leave to wreak havoc on the peacefully sleeping family. Try not to think of it as a skeleton head, but just face made from snow. Although as I recall, we built snowman with evil face many times, just for fun Edited November 16, 2013 by MacGyver Quote
Kristel Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Wow. This is really stunning! I love the overall shape and colouring of the building, as well as all the details. The ground floor red windows are my favourite part. Quote
timmyc1983 Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 (edited) Great MOC, all the details are fantastic, not just the exterior but the interior is fantastic too. I think I relate very well with the sleepy boy My favourite detail is the curved windows of the restaurant I think but the snow is very well done too, particularly the path being shoveled (poor woman, what a job!!!). Great work and happy building Edited November 16, 2013 by timmyc1983 Quote
legolegolegolego Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Very well done! If I may ask, what is the red sign from in front? This would be perfect for a project of mine. - Michael Quote
malolau Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 hello whaohoooo great and Wonderful MOC! love all the details ! @malolau Quote
Manx Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Charming house! Facade is very beutiful. Quote
Holodoc Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Wow, this building is fantastic! The details from the outside, and the clever partly snow covered roof, ingenious. And it has an interior, too! There is nothing not to love Besides maybe the red and green floor in the living room, but I guess this is just X-mas decoration and will be removed after the holidays, right? Your MOC is a great addition to the original winter buildings from Lego. Thanks for sharing. Quote
ScotNick Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Great detail here and there, I especially love, how you covered the roof and everything else in snow . The house looks very well, is there real version of this ? Quote
