legoaddict Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Amazing job. The whole MOC is very well built. I particularly love the street lamps. Quote
Kivi Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Amazing work. The entire house is very nicely (and inventively) built, but it's the details that really stand out. I like especially the clock pendulum and the chandelier. Well done! Quote
Paperballpark Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Great scene! I have to ask, does Santa fit down the chimney? ;) Quote
Redhead1982 Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 To begin with, your building process is very interesting, starting with actual planning in LDD and creating a great end product. It reminds me of building a great OOB set, that you longed for a long time, yet it's so much better, as you actually get to create the ''set''. As a whole, it works really well, telling a story of holidays, with lots of snow, santa and presents. The details on the facade are interesting, I like the monochrome colour scheme, as some of the details really stand out. Also, interior is interesting, although not all details are clearly visible. My favourite detail is definitely chandelier. Great work. Quote
niteangel Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Indeed a very beautiful winter house! It definitely has some Christmas feel even without Santa! Quote
MacGyver Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 Great to see such lovely comments, thanks again! Very well done! If I may ask, what is the red sign from in front? This would be perfect for a project of mine. This is fabuland sign, see here: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=x222 …Besides maybe the red and green floor in the living room, but I guess this is just X-mas decoration and will be removed after the holidays, right? Exactly! They put this carpet there to represent wreath with red decoration, therefore red/green colour … is there real version of this ? No, I have just used my imagination and made a fusion of several different victorian era houses… Great scene! I have to ask, does Santa fit down the chimney? ;) Sure he fits, Santa fits everywhere! Great advantage of LDD is that you can change shapes and styles untill you're completely satisfied with the end product… Quote
Herky Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 This is sweet, thanks for sharing with us, TLG should copy you for next years set, amazing. Quote
kermit Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Its amazing how you used mostly tan for the building yet the details pop out despite being all in one colour. Quote
Churchill Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I think the skeleton head works great for the snowman. Great work! Quote
HayHay Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Awesome! I like all details such as roof, sidewalk and red windows. This is excellent work! Quote
MacGyver Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 Thanks again! @kemit I tried to get as close to similar facades in reallife as possible (with lots of details etc..) Well, it's almost Christmas! Everything is ready for the Santa, here's the picture of christmas tree and diorama underneath Quote
NoEinstein Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I just stumbled on this build (kinda late to the party so to speak). This is a great Christmas build, it breaths Charles Dickens and it looks great under the tree. Another great thing is you managed to build it without using duct tape and a pocket knife . Merry Christmas! Quote
Kenspace Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 It's amazing !!! I drew in particular the effect of just shoveled snow. Very very realistic... Quote
MacGyver Posted December 25, 2013 Author Posted December 25, 2013 Thank you! @NoEinstein Version of Christmas Carol by Robert Zemeckis was my big inspiration for starting this build Merry Christmas! Quote
splatman Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 As I said upthread (msg. 14), I'm asking today, what did the sleepy boy find under the Tree? Quote
MacGyver Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 (edited) @splatman If you take a closer look at Santa's sleigh, you can see the yellow package inside, which was delivered under the tree for sleepy boy (named Ole). He wrote to Santa that he'd like to have a wooden toy. He was so thrlled by it, that he later started building wooden toys by himself and his company later became known as LEGO Edited December 28, 2013 by MacGyver Quote
