Thanks for that Si-MOC. Wasn't sure what the wristband actually was. I was rather disappointed this year. Last two years I lived near a Lego store which was great for getting the invites and goodies. Where I live now the nearest store is a 2 hour drive and I can't just pop by like I used to. What I would really love to go to again is the 15% off day for AFOLs. Do they even do that in Canada?

Got some sets planning to use for future MOCs but look at all the free stuff!

Not in the pic PaB box for future redemption, two armbands and triple points!

They're somehow overdoing their crappy last week sale with the Brick Friday sale basically being the same except you get a poster instead of triple VIP points...

It was the Salt Lake store. The employee I was talking to (who has always been a little shady to begin with) had told me that they had it in stock and that it'd be available for purchase for Lego VIPs on Dec 1st. He wouldn't bring it out, but he did assure me it was there, and that it'd be available a month earlier like some of the other sets (winter village stuff, for example).

Went in yesterday to redeem my Brick Friday VIP Event coupons, and found out from the manager it was a load of hogwash. They're not getting it until Jan 1st, just like everyone else. Needless to say, the employee's misinformation kind of ruined my December a little. I bought the Town Hall to make myself feel better. :P

On the plus side, my wife got the Hedgehog keychain (which was ringing up at $2.50, by the way) and I picked up a set for my younger brother with what we acquired at the VIP event. Strangely, my triple points from my purchases last week didn't register the triple points, but the manager was nice enough to fix it. Did anyone else have that problem?

Was also "outed" by a Lego store employee. "My husband was reading the Eurobricks forums and saw your posts!" (I'm looking at you, raidermab). There was no Q&A period about whether or not I'm actually on here or if that's my username -- it's pretty obvious, apparently. Regardless, I'm still well liked in the store.. ;)

I bought some storage bins from lego.com at half off. Kind of overpriced compared to ones I can get in the store that don't have Lego theme and stuff but at the sale it wasn't massively overpriced so I bought them anyways.

Then of course, never to be outdone, Amazon.com had a sale on them the next freakin' day for even LESS. Oh, and their shipping is free 2 day shipping (often one day, sometimes same day due to my location). Lego.com's free shipping is like 2 freakin' weeks.

Every time I buy from lego.com I end up regretting it because they just are not a good value. Even when I need an exclusive I can usually wait until it's on amazon and get free 0-2 day shipping.

I keep wanting to like the official Lego store...

I ordered from Lego.com last Saturday and received the item with standard shipping yesterday. I've ordered a lot from lego.com this year and the packaging is always good and their EOR operation near Memphis gets things to me fast. Being an Amazon prime member, I get the free two day shipping if I elect to go that route. Sometimes I buy from Amazon if the deal is better. The local Lego store is my last option, for several reasons.

I don't have a problem with you Jay just letting other people know that the pariasian café was not available at that store so people don't freak out and bother there stores. I am sure it was just misinformed. No problem Jay
