FishHead Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Frankly, I hate the stickers. I realize the costs savings of stickers, the constraints Lego needs to work in regarding profit, etc. - but I always dread the stickers. Whether it's a set for me, or for the kids, I'd just much prefer printed parts. Granted, I have early town minifigures that have stickered torsos. And I have stickered parts from when I was a kid. They've held up "okay", but to my eye, the printed pieces just give everything a much more "finished" look. Yeah, I realize it's "just a toy" and all that, but still. Anywhoo - I'm excited about the set, and I can't say that a sticker-vs-printed piece will give much pause when it comes time to lay down the cash. Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Good point, however the 928 came out in 1979, and the PR is a Modular. Lego tend to go the extra mile when you exceed £150 ish. As you say as long as the textured slopes are printed, I'm fine. I've got loads of sets that have the same sort of textured slope and the stickers practically slide of them. On a side note, how many people do you think you could cram into the cockpit? I haven't got that specific design, though I'm guessing if they squeeze up three, it all depends on if there's an interior. It appears that the cockpit could be the only interior section of the ship. Depending on how seats are done inside, it seems either two or three could be seated, with the third most likely behind Wildstyle in the photo. The ship certainly looks like it will be successful. It is an AFOL magnet due to the nostalgia of the 1970s-1980s as well as something that will impress children as well. Something that appeals to multiple demographics will be highly sought after. Many people would like to have one of these. You have the colors/logos of the past combined with the parts and play features of the present (detachable sections?) Now, I am wondering if I should hold off on Town Hall for a little bit, bite the bullet, and bricklink a Galaxy Explorer so that I have have the legacy ship to go along with Benny's ship. This is going to be an expensive year. Quote

DPrime Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Anyone seen this yet? I think if he's an important enough character to have his own poster and his own ride, it should be a set. Anyone else hopeful we'll get something like this? Hey, just wondering - has anyone tried to build this little ship yet? Quote
obsidianheart Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Hey, just wondering - has anyone tried to build this little ship yet? Peter Morris has a set of instructions that start here. Quote
ATX Lego Maniac Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Love that style of spaceship. Probably one of my favorites. I would buy it as a set. Quote
