Khorne Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Did the reseller show you a pic of it by coincidence? I think not, but I sure hope so. I so, how does it look ;-) ? Quote

Khorne Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 no picts... I met him in a general store, not in his own shop... Do you think this person would have a pic of it in his own store? Quote
Asuka Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I had a dream.... X-D Well.... really.... imagine that in LEGO.... 8-| Quote

Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted April 4, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted April 4, 2007 Damn, I really like the Eiffel Tower, but Gustave only build his tower after Napoleons dead. So it's useless in a Napoleonic city. I want an Arc de Triomphe. (just following Asuka's example :-P ) Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 I'm not a real big fan of these monuments, but a set like this would really include a lot of good pieces. I'm thinking train bridges... Quote
simonwillems Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Damn, I really like the Eiffel Tower, but Gustave only build his tower after Napoleons dead. So it's useless in a Napoleonic-area city. I want a Arc de Triomphe. (just following Asuka's example :-P ) Onlt thing is that te Arc the Triomphe was completed very long after Napoleon's death, he layed the first brick but never saw it as we do now.... :'-( Quote

Anyhow, this thread was about the Eiffel Tower. These pictures, taken during its construction have always intrigued me: Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Hey Bonaparte, they could do that superb Vend Quote
Athos Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 I just hope its not too reliant on technic pieces, but I don't see how it could be otherwise. Steve Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 But if it is Technic we get bads and goods. Good: It won't break as easily... Bad: We might be dissapointed by the lack of bricks in a UCS set. -ZotS Quote

alex54 Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Anyhow, this thread was about the Eiffel Tower. These pictures, taken during its construction have always intrigued me: Those pics are in an office, where I work. And the company where I work (a Parisian subsidiary) has worked on the scintillating light of the Grande Dame. Oh god! You French and your phallic monuments hmpf.gif Thank god we don't have anything like that here :-D Quote
agrotic Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 :'-( I want to appology ... another French AFOL said that the 113 euros is the reseller price... with VAT and so on, the public price will be a bit over 200 euros :'-( sorry folks, my informations seem to be partialy wrong... :-/ Quote
Athos Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Maybe they could create a model of the Champs- Quote
Starwars4J Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 250 Euro? Geez...it better not be mostly technic :-/ Imagine the size though...is the 1 meter size still confirmed? Quote
Mr Hobbles Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Ok, for this price it had better be darned good if I'm going to buy it. As others have said, I don't want a bunch of Technic parts either. And it had better be of a height that looks good with minifigs walking under it. Quote

And it had better be of a height that looks good with minifigs walking under it. and it better have a working elevator, and it better come with a mini-fig that speaks french and it better help me with my taxes... MatthewUSA Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 I definitly can't wait to this model myself. 1m equals 39.37 inches for us American members. I would say that is a *sweet* height. I think this will definitly :'-) really cool. I would also think this would look good with the mini-fig scale too. I also think that if this set is brick, that would be cool, but if the set is Technic, this would look cool too. At least the Technic parts would give the model that "steel" look, if the set is dark grey. I am glad to see the Lego Company making these kind of sets. I hope they keep this up. It would be cool if they make "Big Ben", the "Leaning Tower" and the many other structural marvels of the world. This even includes bridges (Golden Gate). I can't wait. Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Oh god! You French and your phallic monuments :-| ROFL !! Now everybody knows why we are such good *beeeeeep* (darn auto censorship :-D ) Maybe they could create a model of the Champs- Quote
