skriblez Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Very cool and different take on the contest :) Quote
grum64 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) Great idea. Look forward to seeing the final builds. Good Luck. Edited November 20, 2013 by grum64 Quote
DrJB Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) Neat! You may find part 57702 better suited for the bucket wheel excavator. Make sure you use the WHITE version though, looks much better than the Tr-Blue. In fact, I'm using those for a GBC, based on the same machine. Edited November 20, 2013 by DrJB Quote
KirTech LAB Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 Thanks for advice! Unfortunately i haven't this parts :( Here is not the final variant of bucket! Quote
Junpei Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I like the idea, it's quite original! In the third picture down, what is that piece that holds the towball axle? It looks like a 4L thin liftarm, but what's up with the slit in the top? Quote
skppo Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I like the idea, it's quite original! In the third picture down, what is that piece that holds the towball axle? It looks like a 4L thin liftarm, but what's up with the slit in the top? I think it's just cracked. Thin liftarms do that easily if torque is applied to the axle hole. Quote
DrJB Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 It looks like a 4L thin liftarm ... and appears to be cracked. Quote
weavil Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) It looks like a 4L thin liftarm ... and appears to be cracked. It is, because almost half of my 4L and 5L T-shape are cracked in some way. And a great idea shaping up. Edited November 20, 2013 by weavil Quote
KirTech LAB Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) Thanks! Now i have a preview picture with my composition: Edited November 3, 2015 by desert752 Quote
Lakop Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Good idea. I like the mix of technic, both studded and stud less, and train. A technic train is a very good idea. H Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Wow nice train for the tech forum! Quote
Junpei Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Dat train... Excellent work!! Is that crane really 500 parts or less? Quote
DrJB Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Fantastic/unique MOC indeed. You already giving me few ideas for activities during the coming cold weather ... Is that crane really 500 parts or less? If I recall, the tread links do not 'count'. Quote
Junpei Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I know the tread links don't count, as well as a few other parts, but it still looks really big. I guess just lots of long liftarms and technic bricks. Quote
MrNumbskull13 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I know the tread links don't count, as well as a few other parts, but it still looks really big. I guess just lots of long liftarms and technic bricks. True, I think it's within the limit. Nice entry! Quote
weavil Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 That is impressive! Mine might work great with yours. I'll try to post later today/night. Quote
Nike 2101 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) Nice work! I want have this train because it looks better than original system trains! Edited November 21, 2013 by Nike 2101 Quote
KirTech LAB Posted November 22, 2013 Author Posted November 22, 2013 Thanks all for comments! The excavator was reassembled two or three times to reduce parts quantity! And i've done it - it contains exactly 500 parts :) The train was really difficult task. There are four RC functions in it... Quote
KirTech LAB Posted November 22, 2013 Author Posted November 22, 2013 I've added my work to the entry topic! Hope you like it :) Quote
JGW3000 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Very nice and realistic - years ago i've seen a similar digger in action, dredging sand from the middle of the Arkansas River, between Tulsa and Bixby, in Oklahoma - the digger and transport belt pivoted is needed to dig and deliver product, in this case sand, to a shore-based truck (or train car, can't remember). It would be great if you could retake the video in a more realistic setting (but not in a river!) Quote
dr_spock Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Very nice. The train is well done. You should post it in the Train Tech forum. Quote
kieran Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Train is fantastic, defiantly worth a post over on train tech Quote
