TheOrcKing Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. You took what I consider the greatest Lego set ever conceived and expanded upon it. The bloody bathroom was nicely creative with the blood 'dripping' over the side. It actually is a little creepy offset by the childlike nature of the brick. I also like your modified Vampyre Hearse as well. Quote
kevin8 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Wow! This is a great MOD! You have done a great work as interior designer! Thanks for sharing it Quote
SnapLock Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 This is such a great mod, a lot of time and thought went into this & the outcome is fantastic! This is how Lego should have made the Haunted house. Quote
B Rick Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 Thanks guys! This is how Lego should have made the Haunted house. Nah... that takes away the creative fun of Lego don't you think? Lego did a great job with this set as it is. Just a few minor mistakes, like the placement of attic-ladder, and the stairs behind the windows. Quote
Vindicare Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Quite an amazing build, wow! You can't quite tell just how much larger it is...until you look inside. All your additions are fantastic, the breakaway walls are great. Quote
B Rick Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 Quite an amazing build, wow! You can't quite tell just how much larger it is...until you look inside. All your additions are fantastic, the breakaway walls are great. Thanks! You're absolutely right. The exterior mods are extensive yet very subtle ...until you put it next to the original Haunted House. Only then you'll notice my building being a complete floor higher. (in bricks ofcourse, not in floors ;-) ) But I really don't mind you don't see it at first or even second glance.I like the original very much and I just build it larger mainly for the completion of a reasonable detailed interior. What I would like is people recognising Disney's Phantom Manor in it. After all that's why I started modding it in the first place. The Phantom Manor is Disneyland Paris' version of a classic victorian haunted mansion. Quote
B Rick Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 (edited) I found the official Monsterfighters Hearse (and my modified version of it) way to big for minifig scale so I wanted to build a slightly smaller version of it. 7 studs wide would probably be small enough and still have most of the detailing of the original. ^ 7 stud version of the Hotrod Hearse. I finally got the time to build a smaller version of my modified Vampyre Hearse, and I think these proportions look way better next to my Haunted House. ^ old 8 stud vs new 7 stud For more details on The Incredible Schrunken Hearse click here! legolas82 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Looks awesome! How did you make the staircase? Quote
B Rick Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 Looks awesome! How did you make the staircase? Thanks! I used the staircase method that can be found in some standard Lego modulars like Petshop. I like that it doesn't take up a lot of room. Quote
B Rick Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Did some tinkering to my haunted house again some time ago. It now features a carport/open garage for the hearse. I remodeled the attic-window, made the frontporch wider and attached to the carport. The whole building has 'grown' three bricks higher. I replaced the towerornament for a trident. So in all it looks much more like EuroDisney's Phantom Manor. There are several other adjustments. I just have difficulty getting the whole house into one photograph... Oh, and watch out for the hearse, cause it has been transformed into an icecreamtruck. The perfect camouflage for Lord Vampyre in search of young blood... Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 There are no words to express how awesome this is. Keep up the amazing work! Quote

B Rick Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 woow, awesome mod! brilliant creativity. Thanks for the props Sergio! in your thread too If this is you "tinkering" I'd love to see what you can do when you're serious! The house looks stunning - looking forward to more! Heheh, I get your point. But mind you. This house started out as bonestock original. I gradually transformed it into what you see hear. Every now and then I like to indeed 'tinker' with it a little bit more. So, there you are... Quote
rob-cubed Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Really fabulous renovation job on the HH and hearse! I like how you stayed true to the originals but improved them inside and out. The interiors are just fabulous and your photographs are great... especially the spotlight on the fig in the bloody tub. Creepy. Quote

The interiors are just fabulous and your photographs are great... especially the spotlight on the fig in the bloody tub. Creepy. Thanks! I absolutly love the original Lego design so it just needed slight improvements, particularly size-wise to get a decent interior to fit the building. But the set is great as is, and it is probably my all time favorite Lego set. Quote
flailx Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 This is OUTSTANDING work. Love the interiors. I may have to borrow some of your furnishing ideas for my Victorian house Quote
