VKTechnic Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 I came across Madoca's New Supercar recently, and it sparked the inspiration to build something similar. Here's the first stage of my WIP. The chassis is almost the same as Madoca's original, but it no longer uses a servo and instead uses an old hockey spring. Also thinking about giving it yellow rims, would like to hear your thoughts on that. Any other feedback is appreciated as well. Quote
Lakop Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 A good chassis but you've got to use a servo now they're available. I must get one of those battery boxes. H Quote

VKTechnic Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Bodywork getting started, for now very similar to the New Supercar. This is probably as much as I'm going to "copy," the rest is going to be somewhat Lamborghini-styled. Quote
Junpei Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Looking good, great work adapting the steering to work with an m-motor. Is there rear suspension? Quote
VKTechnic Posted November 25, 2013 Author Posted November 25, 2013 Looking good, great work adapting the steering to work with an m-motor. Is there rear suspension? Yes, rear leaf spring suspension just like the original. I have no idea what I'm doing Might change the tail light border to dark bley. Thoughts? Quote
timslegos Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I like the red actually, the rest of the body looks great too! tim Quote
AKM_76 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Don't like yellow for the wheels. It always give a model a toy-look in my opinion. Grey or black seems to be so much better choice. Quote
NXT45 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Good Work! That looks AWESOME! Keep up the awesome building! NXT45 Quote

VKTechnic Posted November 25, 2013 Author Posted November 25, 2013 where did those transparent red beams come from? they're awesome! and the car is awesome too. can't wait to see the finished model. Got them from the Nitro Menace, set 8649. Don't like yellow for the wheels. It always give a model a toy-look in my opinion. Grey or black seems to be so much better choice. I think a toy look is what I'm going for, especially with the following changes. I changed the flex axles to Lime, and made the mirrors/exhaust pipes white. I think it looks pretty good. I also added a working steering wheel: Any and all feedback is appreciated, as usual. Quote
timslegos Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Great looking body, I mean the car of course . I like the lime accents too. tim Quote
Junpei Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Looking good, I like the lime green and the steering wheel is genius! Quote
VKTechnic Posted November 26, 2013 Author Posted November 26, 2013 ....and I'm stuck. Anyone have suggestions for what the front of this car should look like? I have no clue what to make it. Quote
Lipko Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 You could try simple elongated horizontal lights, like on the rear. Quote
VKTechnic Posted November 30, 2013 Author Posted November 30, 2013 Finally got my hands on a camera, this thing's been done for a couple of days. I ended up using a Toyota GT86 as the inspiration for the front end, I think it turned out quite well. Final pictures in this Flickr set. Any and all feedback is appreciated! Quote
skriblez Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Very nice work. Really like the color scheme to :) Quote
Kronos Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) Wow! This looks awesome! I'm a huge car fan and I half to add this to my collection! Do you have an LDD or instructions in mind? Would you mind if I reverse engineer it from your pics? Mike Edited December 1, 2013 by Kronos Quote

prateek Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Wow! This is awesome! The front has turned out very nicely. I've got to say though, the only thing I don't like is the lime green. Doesn't really go well with the yellow IMO. But other than that, great job Quote
Rishab N Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Looks amazing, but I don't like the mix of lime and yellow either Quote
