Posted November 24, 201311 yr Formerly a prototype CIS bomber based off a captured Jedi Interceptor, it was mothballed when the war ended and subsequently found and modified by its current pilot. Main ordinance is the bomb chute on the underside, but a single laser cannon is mounted underneath the cockpit for point-defense. The cockpit is able to freely rotate, giving the pilot an excellent view of the the things he's dropping bombs on. Yep, it looks like a B. How about that? Pilot shot. More pictures in the Photoset.
November 24, 201311 yr That looks good! I like how you made the cockpit with two-sided windows! So the contest is running now on FBTB? We can expect more?
November 24, 201311 yr Nice "B wing", it certainly reminds me a lot more to the referred letter than the real one, the concept is also very smart.
November 25, 201311 yr Author Thanks. Assuming I make it through to the next round, I'll be doing something E shaped. The round after that, K. I'm really looking forward to that, I have an idea all ready to go. After that... well, we'll see.
November 25, 201311 yr Nice take on a "B-wing"! I do wonder where the official B-wings get their name from, as they bear little resemblance to the letter. I like the computer/mechanical detailing that you added to the underside of the cockpit. It isn't strictly necessary for the design, but is an extra detail that catches your eye. Also, just as an idea for a Mk. II, you could put the bomb segment on it's own spindle and gear it to the cockpit segment so that they rotate in tandem. This isn't to say that your creation isn't perfectly adequate as is or should be "improved"; it was just an alternate concept that came to mind after seeing it. Nice work and I look forward to seeing your E and K wings!
November 25, 201311 yr Nice B-wing :). It sort of has an "Armored Assault tank and the new Droid gunship" feel to it. I really like the two-glass cockpit - I assume it rotates like the Mandalorian fighter? I could see some change for improvement if you give it bigger wings. It would give it more Tie-fighter-esqe look, and you would have more surface to greeble on to, The smaller wings, gives it a bit of a speeder-look, and not so much inter-stellar space travel. (at least I think so) :) I do wonder where the official B-wings get their name from, as they bear little resemblance to the letter. If you look at it with the cockpit facing down, flying left to right, it sort of looks like a non-capital b - that has always been my interpretation of it anyways :) Edited November 25, 201311 yr by pihlbrick
November 25, 201311 yr Author Thanks chaps. Glad you like it. The cockpit does indeed spin, for those that are wondering. If anyone happens to be on FBTB, voting for this contest round has starting. I'd feel like a very poor sport telling you who to vote for, but should you wish to vote I would encourage it, lol. About to start on the E-Wing now... I think I have a cool idea.
