Khorne Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 Actually, I'm allready learning French for 4 years, but it's very difficult, after four years and we can only watch to baby cartoons :( That's really disapointing :'( Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 I admit that it is a very difficult language to learn ;) Good luck on this noble task ;) Quote
Khorne Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 You're right, French is very difficult, you're lucky that you're born french :-D . English is so much easier. This year is the first year I get English at school and evrything so much easier, especially because I could allready speak some words English when I was 7 or so. :-D Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 I really hate those bloody stupid kids cartoon when you learn a language at school. I had to suffer 1 year of Mafalda in my spanish classes :'( I wonder what kind of crap they make you watch in French *wacko* Quote
Khorne Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 They let us watch an old cartoon, it's named Toutou le chien et ses amis, or something like that, the only thing that I'm sure of is that the dog's name is Toutou, there's also a frog named Kiki :-D *EDIT* To get back on topic, I've got the Jedi Starfighter + Vulture Droid today, thanks Snefroe1 for mentioning that Dreamland has the new sets. I bought it for Quote
snefroe Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 thanks for that turbo tank price... i noticed the huge box, but there was no price tag on it... the price of all sets is 0.99 euro lower than TLC's, it seems btw, i've had that French cartoon stuff as well... the good thing is... you forget all about it when you get older ... or perhaps you're just repressing those awful memories... :P Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 btw, i've had that French cartoon stuff as well... the good thing is... you forget all about it when you get older ... or perhaps you're just repressing those awful memories... :P well, I hope you're talking about the cartoon and NOT the language of Voltaire... :P ;) Quote
The Middleman Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 btw, i've had that French cartoon stuff as well... the good thing is... you forget all about it when you get older ... or perhaps you're just repressing those awful memories... :P well, I hope you're talking about the cartoon and NOT the language of Voltaire... :P ;) What's this about Voltaire? He's my favorite philosopher. Gotta love it. And Belgians! I love Belgium, they have great chocolate. I've been there twice (I'm half Belgian, my mom lived there when she was a kid). Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Bloody Jay, The language of Voltaire is an expression just to talk about the French language (like the language of Moli Quote

Khorne Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 I don't think that Danish beer is that great, German beer sucks, so Danish will probably be bad too. Another Belgian specialty is frites, gotta love frites, I can't get enough of them *wub* Quote

Parmentier who brought the potato to the old continent is French thus the name French Fries ;) True, Belgium beer is the best ;) . However I tend to disagree about danish and german beer: sure they usually are lighter (Carlsberg is much more stronger in France than in Denmark), but they are tasty *satis* Quote
snefroe Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Pardon me?????????Parmentier who brought the potato to the old continent is French thus the name French Fries ;) we're voting for the greatest Belgian these couple weeks and the old discussion about french fries came up... again... we'll never know who the real genius was... but... 1) it seems "french" in french fries comes from the english "to french" refering to the shape of french fries... 2) i like them too :P 3) Danish beer isn't that bad. However, dutch beer is the worst. don't like Heiniken... so, Bloody Jay, where in Belgium did your mom live? Quote
The Middleman Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 so, Bloody Jay, where in Belgium did your mom live? Antwerp, I think. Quote
