Tijn Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 I found some ROTS sets at TRU Utrecht Yesterday, bought the ARC 170 but they also had the Clone Scout Walker, Anakin's starfighter + droid and Darth vaders transformation. Quote
snefroe Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 one of the reasons why europeans don't buy their lego in an american shop on line: 1)these shops, like Amazon, can't send these products to europe: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...s=toys&n=507846 2)people do buy stuff on american on line shops (books, cd's,...). it will become more popular in time 3) manny people are not really concerned about/aware of high euro/low dollar. they're probably lazy as well... Kikuichimonji Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Hm no TRU here unfortunately...just an Intertoys and a Top 1 Toys...ah well, it's a 1-hour drive to the lego shop in Cologne, but I have to wait till my dad can drive me there.... Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 I say that you should save your money, so when they come out in your country you can buy more of them! Quote
snefroe Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 I say that you should save your money, so when they come out in your country you can buy more of them! Easy for you to say! but we're the guys who have to do the waiting!! :P Quote

Easy for you to say! but we're the guys who have to do the waiting!! :P They are availible where I live but i have only bought 2, and I got them before the release. I made a promise to myself that I would not buy one ROTS set untill at least 4 months from now. I'm doing this because the longer I wait, the more places have sets on sale! and since i'll have more money from the time I spent waiting, that means more sets for less! all you have to do is WAIT and SAVE Quote
chewie Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 hey wow that is smart i think im gonna do that too wahoo wow now i cant wait untill 4 or 5 months are up more lego! :-D Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 So what is the official release date in Europe anyway? I suppose those are the same as the dutch ones anyway. And has anyone found them in stores already? Quote
snefroe Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 release date was April. the company should be sending the sets to the shops before the release date, but she doesn't seem to succeed. is it because of distributional reasons or lack of organisation, i don't know... there also is a difference between many european countries. France seems to have them already, or at least part of the line... darth Ewok's idea might work, however, i think there might be an availability problem in the future. For instance, i'm not sure if the firefighting/police themes (all the sets) will still be available around June... it seems to me that many sets will be gone at that point. the firetruck is already an endangered species... especially if the star wars sets hit the shops in the next couple of days... there won't be any room left for the police/firefighting themes... Quote
HJR-Holland Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Dude, why don't you check out a dutch site for this question? You could ask someone at the bouwsteen or lowlug and they'd know more about the sets shop up in Holland rather than this european oriented site... Just my 2 cents... :) Quote

Yep France has all the sets (at least Paris). Actually where I buy them they had a delivery problem but I think TRU might have some (I'll check on that sunday). Concerning your second Quote
The Middleman Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Anyway... I've been curious; does anyone have any comparison shots with the MINI JSF2 and other MINIs? Quote
The Middleman Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 I haven't seen one of the police City sets in stores... not that I need them, but I find that kind of odd. Quote

The Middleman Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 I mean, I go pretty regularly to my local TRU, they have never had ONE Police City set. As far as sales, though, I haven't seen any on City. It's sold very well over here. Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 HJR, I check the lowlug forum pretty often buy you can't register with a hotmail account...and since I'm only 17 I don't have anything else. Same thing for fbtb:S Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 By the way Tijn, it's about 150 km to Utrecht and since I'm not old enough to have my driver's lincence it's just too far. I'd go to Cologne or Oberhausen. That's only about 80 kilometers and they have official LEGO stores which are sure to have ALL sets on stock. Although, the AT-AT's were sold out last time I went there *wacko* Quote

Same thing for fbtb:S Yeah, same here. I have Gmail, though. I think they should accept that, since it's invitation only. You have to accept the invitation via another e-mail account, then register. It's too complex for bots. Quote
