SuvieD Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 Welcome! :-D Well it is an update to me and I didn't see it on the front news page yet so it seems like a good post. ;) You should go and introduce yourself on the Hello my name is . . . category. I never realised it was there until I was knee deep in posts. Anyway nice to hear from you. Quote
snefroe Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 Apologies if this has already been posted elsewhereWhile browsing around S@H I noticed something interesting: they have move the DSII availabilty up to August 16th! I realize this is only a move of about 2 weeks (I think it was set for September 1st until just recently) but hey any sooner is great. Oh, and for what its worth this is my first post here! I have been lurking now for a little while (having just come back from what apparently is called a dark ages :| . Hopefully my first post hasn't been a complete waste to your boards! welcome apo :P (wonder what apo has to say about this...) on this forum you will find that: most of us write useless messages on a daily basis, don't worry about it... worst thing that can happen is Jon getting upset, Apo nuts, jipay insane and the others... well... don't worry about the others... and Lord Vader, you say? well... he's still trying to gather his crushed tie fleet after a fight with the imfamous rebel sarq, Vader's defeat just hasn't sunk in yet... :P :P Master Yoda, also involved in this battle, had to crash land on a jungle planet... :P most of us go off topic at one point in their life... don't worry about that either... reread the lines above... anyway, now that's been said,... i still have the DSII for september 30th on S&H... xwingyoda Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 Welcome to our friendly boards Apocalypse ;) That snefroe1 character is quite interesting ;) :P , however he is unaware of certain things: The Tie Army will win, and for your info, I lended in this mud hole after all that :-D That being said back on topic: I am sure you will like it here with us, we're a real friendly community. Its always appreciated when a New Member arrives with a good news: DSII coming early, that is great :oD yeahhhhh, need to start putting money away. Talk to you soon. Quote
jonfett Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 worst thing that can happen is Jon getting upset Damn right I am upset! >:( Just kidding, but welcome to Eurobricks Apo#2! ;) We did have a discussion going - http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...t=ST&f=2&t=1151 but as there has been no replies there for weeks I will keep this thread open, that plus people are already p*ssed off at me closing threads lately.. and I don't want to become too unpopular! ;) Jon. Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Don't be upset for this Jon, You are NOT unpopular, you're just doing a fine job as admin ;) You could merge those actually to keep it in one thread though ;) Back on topic: on S@H France the date is May 15 Go figure Check the link here: http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=10143 Its weird because S@H US still have it planned for september *wacko* I wonder why the date was moved 3 months early - coul it be a sign that TLC is preparing something BIG for september????? Something is definitly going on this year in the world of SW ;) Quote
Apocalypse Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Thanks everyone for the warm welcome :-D Like I said before, I have been lurking on these forums for a little while so I feel like I know most of you to some extent. (Is there an introduction thread somewhere, as was mentioned a few posts above? I could give you all the boring details of how I my dark ages ended) Quote
stan Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 The whole of Europe gets it on the 15th May now! Looks like they want to ride the Episode 3 wave on this one. Quote
Apocalypse Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Well it looks like they have moved it back to September 30 for us here in the USA :/ Quote
jonfett Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Is there an introduction thread somewhere, as was mentioned a few posts above? I could give you all the boring details of how I my dark ages ended Yeah, feel free to go post a new topic in the 'Hello! My name is...' forum. Jon. Quote
sam89 Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Good news about it coming on the 15th May in Europe. Although it doesn't really matter to me since if I did get it I'd get it for Christmas ;) Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 I'm stuck, should I get this or the Stardestroyer? Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 I'm stuck, should I get this or the Stardestroyer? Do like me Sarg, Get the ISD first, we'll have plenty of time to get this DSII afterwards ;) Just a suggestion buddy. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Yeah I think I'll do that, the stardestroyer is on it's way out. Thanks Quote
snefroe Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 admins., shouldn't you guys write this new release date of the DSII on your "news" section? i also don't know if this has anything to do with a so called success of the current sw line. most of the sets aren't even available in parts of the country, so how could it be a success, i wonder? if your distribution sucks, than don't expect to see great sales... Quote
jonfett Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 admins., shouldn't you guys write this new release date of the DSII on your "news" section? Good idea, we haven't had any new news for ages! Jon. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 Yey new news. I was getting a bit fed up of seeing the dino bit. The death star keeps getting uglier the more I see it :'( Quote
sam89 Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 I edited your news though Jon, you said that the "new Death Star set has not got a release date of May 15th" ;) Quote
The Middleman Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 They'll probably release them at the same time in US and Europe. At least... they'd better. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 They'll probably release them at the same time in US and Europe. At least... they'd better. I doubt they would, even if it was just a week later in US. Quote
jonfett Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 I edited your news though Jon, you said that the "new Death Star set has not got a release date of May 15th" ;) Thanks Sam! That was a bit of a blundering mistake! :$ Jon. Quote
stb Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Hi, I'm lucky not having to wait until Sep 30 (but I probably wait until Eurobricks Event to buy this set). But I'm dissatisfied with the LEGO pricing policy. I guess this was discussed before, but if there's no early bird discount like for the ISD this will be the most expensive set for me. I bought some sets from US in the past because I could save some money AND get it earlier, even though I had to pay high delivery fees and VAT. Death Start II costs 299 US$ which is around 233 EUR today. Price for e.g. Germany: 369 EUR. :( Quote

Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Welcome indeed to our friendly boards stb, we are not that weird, only a little ;) Do consider to go to the event!!!!! It will be a blast, that's fore sure. Concerning the DSII, I'll wait, no rush, especially taking into account all the wonderfull sets we'll be having this year!!!!!!!! Quote
stb Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Hi, thanks for the warm welcome. I already signed up for the Eurobricks Event silently (mailing DoubleT) some weeks before... :) I forgot to intodruce myself: I'm located at Germany and collect Star Wars Classic LEGO only (I think I have all sets which were sold until now...) I'm not really interested in Episode I,II,III stuff because I was disappointed by Episode I. The Death Star II is a Shop@Home Exclusive, so I guess it won't show up on Ebay for a good price. And I want a new one. And I want it early (this means: at least this year). If the Sandcrawler appears I'm forced (by some jedi magic ;)) to buy it, too... Best regards Stb Quote
