Cyclonis Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 Yeah. I could always just make some kind of decal and print it on a cylinder for the head with the tile and that'll work nicely :) Also, with all those starship sets (mainly ep2 and ep3 ones) with the astromech's head just planted on the side wings of the ship, does the set also come with a body for the droid? Sometimes i've considered buying the whole set just for the droid (but of course i'd still like the ship and all ;) ) Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 No Cyclonis unfortunatly :'( They just come with the "plain" head, thats it !!! Quote
Cyclonis Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 Oh that's awfull Look, even the tuskens are appauled! :X: :X: :X: Quote
Cyclonis Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 Okay I just made a quick test decal for R5's head, to see how good I am at it. Does that look alright for R5-D4? I'll make a better one later, and I'll have to make one for the round tile on top. Quote
DoubleT Posted June 4, 2005 Author Posted June 4, 2005 Just wanted to show a pic of a happie ladie cald Justine, she just found out there a sandcrawler comming :D :P Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 4, 2005 Governor Posted June 4, 2005 Uhhhhhh... It appears as though she's had a successful tennis match... But that's just my early morning interpretation. Do we have anymore REEEEEEEEEEEEAL Sand Crawler LEGO pictures yet? Quote
snefroe Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 Just wanted to show a pic of a happie ladie cald Justine, she just found out there a sandcrawler comming :D :P ahh... juju.. never seen such beautifull tennis before... but i really doubt she'll be buying a crawler, tho... even tho that extra million should be quite enough... Khorne Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 Just wanted to show a pic of a happie ladie cald Justine, she just found out there a sandcrawler comming :D :P It's a BELGIAN tennis playster that has won Roland Garos!!! Ha, take that not-Belgian people :-D . Anyways, I LOVE this Sandcrawler, altough I'll probably won't get it since it's a S@H only :'( . Quote
DoubleT Posted June 4, 2005 Author Posted June 4, 2005 How do we know she ist a Lego fan, and are going to get the Sandcrawler ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 4, 2005 Governor Posted June 4, 2005 Yeah, she might have lost the tennis match but got told she was getting a Sand Crawler.... Quote
Ras 74 Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 I say as I said before, get two and rebuild it a bit. I like that it Quote
Cyclonis Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Well, if you buy two, brake one and add the peices on to the other one, then size isn't your main priority... Quote
Iruini Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 i kinda like it.im not too crazy about non fighter star wars sets though. :/ Quote
V()()D()() Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 I like the Sandcrawler besides the black and white on it. Why did they do that??? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 8, 2005 Governor Posted June 8, 2005 Mr Bionicle! You've inspired me to ask a question! Does anybody know if this Death Star II contains any Bionicle pieces? Quote
LegoSW Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Oh my gosh!!! There is something you MUST see NOW. Somebody has already made it! Have you seen this before? Was this set based on someone's MOC? Ah well please let me know, I don't know if this is old news... Bye! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 9, 2005 Governor Posted June 9, 2005 So they have! And they've added trees! How Tatooine like. Quote
sam89 Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 I saw that a few days ago. It's quite strange, since it's almost exactly the same as the real set *wacko* Perhaps he saw the set before everyone else? Either that or Lego used his design. Quote
LegoSW Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 I think it was Lego using his designs, OR he works for Lego and in secret posting them. People would think it was a MOC, but instead it was a future set. Ah well, whatever happened, it looks good. That person did a good job if he guessed from the pictures, lol, but I doubt he did, he would have needed a lot of time to do that, then again I guess some people can MOC that fast. What do you think? Lego used his ideas, he works for Lego or he guessed from the pictures. Quote
snefroe Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 i think this is an older version of the crawler. i believe i saw this thing quite some time ago, in any case, waaaay before the pics of the official crawler. the reason why i picked it up was because of the trees... can't imagine a crawler driving around in the woods... i don't think it's very surprising to have a version that resembles the official version a lot. once you've decided to use bricks, and to stay close to the original design, the end result should be pretty much the same... Quote
ApophisV Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Remember that we have seen this scanned Lego mag page already some years ago!!! I think he has seen this and build his one from that concept... And actually Hein-Jan is the guy that made this mega-large Hoth diorama! (I'll post links to his work later) Quote
snefroe Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 the fact that this guy also uses white pieces, at almost the same places as in the official set suggests there's more to it, tho... Quote
The Middleman Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 The top is almost identical... not to mention the gaps in the side, and the removable cabin the EXACT SIZE of the official one. Quote
