Centaur Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 WOW! Thats really incredible! I love the jawas. However, I think that they could have made a better assortment of minifigs. Quote
LegoSW Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 No, I doubt such detail could be gained from the Lego Club scan, for it was shadowed and a large section covered by the X-Wing. Sandcrawlers come from Corellia (I've forgotten the name lol), so trees could be possible. So this was a prototype for the real thing or I'm not sure. HELP! Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 GUYS, THE CRAWLER IS OUT ON US SHA!!!!!!! 139.99 USD and shipped by June 15 th !!!!!!!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH http://shop.lego.com/leaf.asp?cn=4&d=5&t=3 Quote
The Middleman Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 The page for the set isn't up yet, though. Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Only a matter of time ;) it will probably be up by tomorrow !! EDIT, Its out NOW, yeahhhhhh (even has the zoom feature)!!! http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=10144&cn=4&d=5&t=3 after some zoom in, here are my impressions on the figs: The Jawas are really fantastic !!!!! Uncle Owen looks too much like OBI but in peach the droids: apart from the ones we have already (C3PO, R2, and the gonk droid), the new ones are not that great - the one desciending the platform looks as horrible as the green one :'( , and there is the body of R4 with a plain white head. I really like the small droid on treads though!!!!! Quote
The Middleman Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Oh jeez... the 15th... I have to make emergency budgeting for this now... Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 What a surprise at the release date! We were all thinking that it would take pre-orders on the 15th. Yet, the product is actually SHIPPING on Junne 15th!! :| Quote
snefroe Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 on the page jipay copied for us, you see a "limit 5 per customer" note for the DSII. the first time that i'm seeing this... the crawler is very early (june). perhaps we'll see the first decent pics of the model next week already the crawler does have 8 tracks...Sam lied to us :P :P :P Quote
The Middleman Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Speaking of tracks, I'm pretty sure each one is comprised of 34 tread pieces, making it 272 total, giving us 1397 other pieces. At $139.99, that's just about EXACTLY piece-to-price - WITHOUT the treads. I'm loving it! (as far as pieces go) Quote
LegoSW Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 I AM ANNOYED, BIG TIME. I was desperate for this set - and still am - but what about a UK release?!? This is the only Star Wars set I really want, and after my wait, US only! Now what? Any news for us UK people? Quote
jonfett Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Calm down! The UK will be getting it, its just being relewsed early in the US. :) Jon. Quote
LegoSW Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Lol, I WON'T CALM DOWN! That was a joke don't worry, it is just I have wanted this set sooo long, and the date, well I thought it would be global. Ah well, I hope it comes to the UK VERY soon! Quote
Cyclonis Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 ...and what about Australia? Also, is it only being released on S@H? And look what load of dissapointment I have: Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 ...and what about Australia? Also, is it only being released on S@H? Well Australia is in the same situation as Europe, its not on SAH as of now, but will be really soon ;) Being an "exclusive" set I think that TRU should carry those (no posting !!!)!! Quote
Precious Jazz Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 I have been pretty busy lately so I haven't had the time to reply but I'm loving the new Sandcrawler. With the exception of R5-D4 all the figures look great and the Sandcrawler itself looks very detailed with lots of playability. My only concern is how stable the set is. Cyclonis it should be up for Australia on S@H in the next month or so, but since last year Australia has been getting the S@H exclusive sets at retailers such as Cloud City, UCS Snowspeeder and the TIE Fighter Collection and at great prices too (I got the TIE Collection for AU$97 at Toyworld last month, the RRP being $150) Quote
Vader Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Why on earth did lego leave the R5-D4 droid blank???? I mean it just looks stupid, would it really of cost them that much just to add a little detail to it. :( Quote

I mean it just looks stupid, would it really of cost them that much just to add a little detail to it. :( is that the one in cyclonis pic? i believe that one has an all white head in the film... it's also cheaper... we've said before, tlc is trying to save money on production costs. this is one of their methods. Quote
The Middleman Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Well, I have one pre-ordered on Next Day Air, and I'll make sure to give an extremely detailed photo review. Should arrive by Thursday or Friday! Quote
Jipay Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Normal version : 140 dollars = 115 euros TLC vision of the world : 140 dollars = 170 euros DO they think we are retarded or something ? Have some doubts :| Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh, I just love to be right on the pricing of TLC (once again, ironic me ???). as predicted its a 169.99 Quote
Jipay Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Yes, I can still see you telling me 170 euros at the restaurant the other day. This proves they put the 170 price tag on it while eating... Imagine the scene... Lego Rep : "Hey how much should we sell the Sandcrawler ?" Lego Mkting Resp : " Well *schrounch schrounch* I think that 170 euros would be good. it's not like if they had technologies that would make them aware it's 140 dollars on the other side of the world" Lego Rep : "you said it bud. It's like this thing you told aboput me last day, what was the name ? Aternet ? Internet ? Whatever, it will never work..." Quote
