Jipay Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 March ? Muhahaha. What I like with TLC is that the employees seems to know less about the incoming sets and release dates than we actually do. *Beside Orlego of course* I can imagine Orlego going to work an saying "have you seen the Lego viking pics ?" :D Quote
Vader Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Very true on both accounts, mind you Orlegos probably working out how he can get one of those big figs out of the store without being seen :-D :P ;) Quote
Orlego Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 March ? Muhahaha. What I like with TLC is that the employees seems to know less about the incoming sets and release dates than we actually do.*Beside Orlego of course* I can imagine Orlego going to work an saying "have you seen the Lego viking pics ?" :D It is really funny because you are 100% correct. Most of my co-workers are totally clueless about new sets. They don't even read the employee Lego Life magazines we get that talk about company issues such as the color changes. When I tell them about new sets they say that I'm crazy and think they are the authority of everything Lego. They can't believe it when I print the pics and bring them into work. They all want to know how I found the pics/info and are totally amazed that I had this information. For weeks I get "how do you know this?" and "where did you get that information". When I tell them to just search the Internet they say the photos and set info are fake because I found it on the Internet. They all shut up when the sets come in but I never get an apology. The best thing is they only listen to what Corp. has to say half the time. Most of the employees are very knowledgeable about sets they are selling but have no clue about new sets. I have to admit that I know very little about the Bionicle line but I'm getting better. I know more about Duplo, Quattro and Bellville than I do Bionicle. There are too many weird names that sound the same and most of the sets look the alike. Plus I personally don't like the sets. :-D ;) Orlego Quote

jonfett Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Hey Orlego, are many of the employees at your Store Lego fans? It would be interesting to see how many AFOLs actually work close to the brick. I am sure I remember a member of FBTB saying he worked at a Lego store. Jon. Quote
ApophisV Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 I asked in a local toy shop for the Jedi Starfighter set, and they told me that they'll get in in MARCH!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( *devil* *devil* :'( I think I'll try to get a confirmation in the other toy store, otherwise I'll drive over the border to the Netherlands the next weeks... |-/ Quote
DoubleT Posted January 24, 2005 Author Posted January 24, 2005 Well ShopAtHome got the StarFighter at stock, just not at sale yet.. Quote
Vader Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Its just a matter of time now, we could have the arc fighter before the jedi starfighter in this country that would be weird Quote

I am sure I remember a member of FBTB saying he worked at a Lego store. Jon. Most of the employees do collect and buy the sets but I would not say they are really into it. Most will buy a set because it looks cool and they get 30% off but they do not build Mocs or own any loose bricks. People never apoligise when ther wrong, after all im still waiting for Orlegos Hey! What apology Vader? :P :P ;) Quote

Vader Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 Well what a day its been, i bought the new ROTS set the ARC here in UK. Im going to take some pics of the set and post them for you and i would be happy to answer all question, but please be patient as it may take me awhile to put the set together. If you want one of these sets then i suggest you ring your local argos quickly as just like the new tie fighter argos only have a few and are not supposed to be selling them yet. :) Quote
