My french aint what it used to be, but overall they were very satisfied with the new garbage truck. The only 2 minor issues were that this one only comes with 1 minifig (vs 2 with the original model) and that the small pieces which act as garbage, can fall out if you tip the truck over to much.

Personally, I think it's a great improvement of the original 1987 model. And it will be a nice addition for my city. :)

Nice ones. 3 new cool looking trucks coming in this year, soit will be realy har to save some € this year. :-$

The city fans are being lucky again.

These truck are very decent and have some nice details (e.g. the sleeping compartment of the green truck).

Is it to late for me to become a city collector? :-D If I had children, I would buy them these trucks.

It never is :-)

If I had children, I would buy them these trucks.

Excuses, excuses ;-)

Nice reviews, and nice pictures of the sets too! The large truck and garbage truck are already on my "to buy" lists, as is the cement mixer. Oh, and the petrol station.

...and the train station, sea port, container crane, etc...damn I'm gonna be so broke. :-/

I still prefer the old yellow (6693) Garbage truck - it has a more "complete" look to it, or perhaps I'm just old fashioned? *sweet*

I like it better, too, that's why I'm gonna mod it to 6wide and leave the new one in the shelf for others ;-)

There was also a red garbage truck. It had a great loading mechanism, but people tend to remember the yellow one better for some reason.

You mean 6668? I have two of those, it's an exellent set!

6668-1.jpg

It probably wasn't remembered as a garbage truck because it didn't have the classic "garbage truck look" with that container...

Great links, thanks. *y*

Wow, I like that garbage truck!

And the big green one (no, not The Hulk) is nice, although a bit too large....

I like the garbage truck and i will pick him up. The old one from 1987 is also good but has 1 minifig and 1 garbage bin more. The red one is also nice, but this 2 old versions (or were it 3?, there was maybe a late '90s version) were never bought by me.

The green truck is nice but to big for me to buy

I think I will buy the mixer too.

Nice links

I like the green truck because the truck has a bed. *y*

I have the old garbage truck but this truck is better. *y*

I will buy all those trucks!

I really like the garbage truck, it looks very good, even if a second minifig would have been good. It seems that this second minifig can stand up at the back of the trcuk, with this piece on top of the light stop. Nice!

The green truck is too big for me too, but I will buy it nevertheless. I will try to downsize it (I have a lot of things to downsize...)

Proud to be a city fan this year! *y*

Ah yes. That's the one. I only have one of these, but I have two of the lifting mechanisms (the other is from the yellow freight train), so I have made a truck with a trailer where both truck and trailer can pick up containers like the red garbage truck.

Instead of two of the red, I have two of the yellow ones... and I have absolutely no idea why. I guess someone just gave me a second one 8-|

Does anyone know all the garbage trucks in city-scale that LEGO has made? It would be funny to see the development like in the "your favorite police/fire station" threads.

Neat, the dump truck has a bunk in the driver's cabin. Most realisitc interior for a vehicle I've seen yet; he just needs a pin-up poster on the wall. :-D

I'm kinda wondering... how did these guys get ahold of the sets so early? I thought the release date is August?

Aside from what's been mentioned, there's only 6564, a hideously <insert that tiresome argument> recycle truck from 1997 in the minifig era.

ah yes, i seen these the other night but the garbage truck link wasnt working. i definatly *wub* the garbage truck...there will be at least three in my fleet. the dump truck...well...that will stay on the shevles as far as im concerned. far to big and bulky for me. just like that bridge transport rig.

no doubt, Lego's marketeers smuggled a few copies out of the company for their campaign... ;-)

and btw, the green truck may just as well be available for only a limited period, so if you want it, you'd better buy it as soon as you find it in the shops...

Funny, finally the variety of City sets grows, yet I won't buy any of them:

I have 2 fire stations already (6382 and 85), 4 gas stations (2 Shell, 2 Exxon), 3 garbage trucks (1 yellow, 2 red), 2 ports (6541 and 42), and 2 7823 Cargo Cranes. No room for more.

And I like this cement mixer better and will try to "rebuild" it (minus the motor):

Still, it's good to see the City is growing for those coming to the best theme ever just now ;-)

sure that's a nice cement mixer, still, i think you'd have to mod this one as well... i'll buy the three sets though... they're quite nice... in fact, i'll buy two copies of each: one for the collection, one to build

Great find Sne *y* Tks for posting them ;-)

I really love these city sets !! They are truly amazing !! Darn expensive year I tell you

That Garbage truck is really ingenious !! I love the way it operates !!

Too bad that the Dumpster truck has 2 huge green dumpsters !! LIke Alex said, they are too oversized (and not <insert that tiresome argument> :-D )

City On !!

*yoda*

i really like the look of this set especially in the orange! will probably make a great piece in my town scene! :-D

the green truck is quite good aswell yet it is quite big for my liking and i would probably have no where to put it.

when are these sets out again? thanks! :-D

I like the rubbish truck. The orange is nice, but not too overpowering. I like the arm on the back for the bins. Neat idea. I might get this. The dumper truck doesn't really need the trailer IMO. I think it would look better without.

Again, I'm surprised by the amount of French there I can translate.

Who has said that the French is a hard language? *sweet*

The more I see the garbage truck in those pics, the more I like it! Can't wait...

And Hobbes, you seem to have a lot of sets that I always dream to have, like those old seaport sets... *wub*

Maybe, one day...

I would have to say that I *wub* these new sets too. Being a town/train collector, these trucks look really cool. I am so *sweet* to see the Lego Co. finally make models that look realistic. I have thought the 4-wide looked too small. But now with 6-wide, the trash truck looks like a real truck. The 8-wide dump truck is a liitle too wide, but I plan to modify it to the 6-wide. That should look more realistic.

Now all Lego needs to do is work on the train sets. I have seen many pictures of 8-wide locomotives and railcars and I built some models of my own using this style. I would have to say, 8-wide locos with 6-wide trucks looks very realistic. I was hesitant at first on this type of scale, but after building my model, I could see what the other modelers saw. This is a good combo. :-)
