"It's already done, if you hadn't noticed." The raider remarks dryly.

Hoke holds his hands out to halt the party members.

"Based upon our different skills, abilities and performance needs, here is how the loot will be distributed."

(Sorry, can't figure out how to post a table!)

"Are you seasick or something?"

The raider raised an eyebrow at the knight's proposed loot distribution, he aimed to TAKE gold from him, he'd have to do some work, to make that happen, but Guts could find a tad of admiration for the lad's 'bravure'. "Someone check the guy for wounds, blades that are stuck, I think he might be delirious."

Then, looking some more at the proposed distribution, the raider's smirk turned quickly into a frown. "Joke's over, little knight. You aim to give your group a clear advantage here. Not gonna happen. What I dished out was fair for all involved. The Captain's declared no weaponclattering between her passengers, and I am not going to go against that, but we're going with what I said." The raider's voice had turned into a dry rasp by this point.

"By the looks of a few of y'alls purses, it looks like a little looting was done before the battle ended," Hoke says with a wink. "I do believe this will be satisfactory, and we can move on from here."

"Not. Going to happen."

"It is done. This distribution benefits everyone involved, with no party affiliation taken into consideration. Since Haldor was the only one to express interest in the beard, and Alexandre could use a weapon boost, everyone's take is good. Besides, it looks like your party benefited the most from their cut."

Benji hoped that Guts and Hoke wouldn't cause a fuss... despite Benji's earlier thoughts of wanting a fight against the bald raider, Benji thought that perhaps it would not be prudent in the current situation. "Fellows, lets try to not cause a fight here. I think that Hoke's intention is to try to help out the heroes without gold-earning abilities, not steal your gold, Guts. Anyways, you already reaped in 800 gold, are you so stingy to not bestow upon the other heroes a little bit more gold?" Benji hoped that his calm attitude would help keep things peaceful...

"Appreciate what you're trying to do Benji, but that doesn't fly. We're doing it my way, or Ablesword's swimming the rest of the way to Baltarok."

"Have no worries Master Cravenhall, there will be no scuffle here," Hoke said as he looked Guts in the eyes.

"You're jumping then?"

"It's Carvenhall..." Benji hissed.

"You're jumping then?"

"EXCUSE ME, I think that you can cut it out now, Guts. As far as I'm concerned, you're just looking for a fight..." Benji growls loudly.

"No."

"Apologies."

"It's actually much simpler than that. Ablesword is undermining my command. And he's neglecting the party under my command, I can not let that slide. In this position we are at equal rank, it wouldn't be right, for a man, for a human maybe, for me, to let that slide."

MDM, you're distributing 10 Meads and 11 Mulled Wines, not 11 and 12.

"Maybe I wasn't clear enough before. No brawling. On my goddamn ship. Since you two obviously can't sort this out, let the rest of your people vote on whose distribution is better."

The captain rolled her eyes.

"Like children. Honestly."

"Then I am in favor of Hoke's distribution." Benji looks Guts suspiciously with his reptilian eyes, expecting a sudden attack.

(-1 Mulled wine from Haldor, and -1 Mead from Alexandre, does that set it straight?)

"My apologies Captain. Just ironing out the details in a new partnership."

"That was Attina Bonaparte. I'm not about to disrespect you on your own ship, Captain, but what you did could be described as biting the hands that feed you out of pride. Only we just saved that hand from a bunch of bloodthirsty barbarians, wether that hand is going to admit that directly, or can't, because her pride is on the line." The raider shrugged.

11059523974_b86fd72dfb_t.jpg

"That hand's been at my throat far too much for my liking."

"Hm. Do you think he could hook me up with armour like yours? This one's seen better days."

11059402815_f8acbd14af_t.jpg

"Probably not, I'm afraid. True blacksmiths are a rare thing to come by in Baltarok. Most of our arms and such are scavenged or pieced together. Relics from battles long past."

"Heh. Well good for you. Eh. That battle was pretty rough on me... I don't know what happened..." Benji shakes his head and rubs his elbow gently.

Zasies gave Benji an enormously hard slap on the back.

11059484986_0f6626a488_t.jpg

"Ah, don't worry about it. Gators tough, and you're at least half."

"Beg your pardon, captain... but did we just forgo reputation for... nothing? What's the point in that? You have your principles, I accept that, but there can be no downsides to the folks in charge having a liking for your crew. It don't put you in their charge, and if anything it's a free get-out-of-jail-free card for everyone on this ship."

11059523974_b86fd72dfb_t.jpg

"Please. My crew have had to fight them off on occasion. I'm with the ship, they're with the ship, and the Bonapartes hate the ship. If you're concerned about my leadership, well, stuff it. But go ahead and ask my crewmen if they'd like to buddy up with the people who take a chunk out of their paychecks on a regular basis."

Nerwen stayed silent during Illidra's banter with Attina. Her reputation with the Bonepartes was already secure, even if she could not speak openly of the circumstances that lead to it.

I would expect that, not having the Boneparte's gratitude, we have yours, Captain.

11059523974_b86fd72dfb_t.jpg

"My gratitude? For what, not letting me sail on past this mess and instead inviting three dozen vikings onboard? I appreciate what Heroica's trying to do, I just don't think it needs to stick its nose in every little problem that happens to crop up."

"Hehehe," says Gocklo as he scotches some of the downed Viking bodies. "I like this captain. The house system is broken. It will have to go sooner or later. All my friends say so! Too old, too old." The little fellow glances up at Guts, and then at Hoke and Nerwen. "I get it now! He just tries to fight everyone. Hehehe. Big tough man. Very funny!"

Hoke turns to regard Gocklo with a stern look on his face. He then shoots the kobold a quick wink and smile.

Haldor groaned, and it wasn't clear weather this was out of sickness or annoyance.

"You're pretty naive, for a captain who up to now has shown impeccable leadership. If your arch-foe bloody offers to tell everyone how you saved them, it's foolish to turn them down. Don't you see?, That lass weren't trying to force you to put anything down in writing, promising your allegiance, she was throwing you a bone. You get reassurance they won't come after you in the near future, and you can run off that reassurance for until it no longer suits you. Sure, they might get pissed and try and kick your head in afterwards, but in that case, you've just bought yourself lots of lovely free time. You won't feel bad for lying to a bunch of blokes you've always hated, too. I have no idea what world you live in, but there's literally no downside to accepting that offer. I've never been captain of anything in my life, nor will I likely be if I can barely stand on these bloody things, but even I can see that you messed up there."

The nord coughed roughly into his fist.

"I can only apologise for my words, captain. I can't be bothered to pussy-foot around or exercise politeness with this dirty great lump of wood rocking from underneath me all the damn time..."

He coughed again.

"For what it is worth, I ain't gonna vote on the loot - 'cause I'm a weak minded-bastard who can barely keep his lunch down, let alone think clearly."

"I really have no arguement here with what I get. Gods, you've all just got the cabin fever haven't you! We'd be on dry land if we hadn't tussled with those boater types and I have no support for the guys that can put Eubric in a stranglehold if they want." Tesni took a cloth from her pocket to clean her blade.

"Captain, say the word and I'll sit between the hotheads for a while!"

"Enough. Haldor. In contrast to the tin can, you should always keep the captain of your ship happy."

Haldor bit his tongue.

"Yeah, whatever. The clan never liked me 'cause I didn't take orders that make no sense, but I'll stay myself now because you asked me too."
