Scubacarrot Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Drinks, music, dancing? It has been too long since I enjoyed each of those. I missed Yavieba, autumnal equinox and the feast night then because of my most recent quest. I expect we will be in the high kingdoms for Grogmas and Yenearsira Winter Solstice, I pray we will be in good company with food and drink and good cheer. Nerwen looked steadily at Guts as she said this last. The raider let out a gruff chuckle. "We can hope. What about you, you were gone for a while."
Capt.JohnPaul Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 The raider halfs unsheaths Lifestealer. "Flashy or not, one tiny cut from this thing and you're going to be screaming. And I will make that cut. The party Olmstyr has chosen is solid. Overpowered female member, check. Shaman, we got it. Assassin, yup. An uncharacteristically tough elf, yes. Defense oriented member, aye, and ours has a dragon. And then there's me. I'm for support." "I'll have ya know, we elves aren't all weak magic druids. It's the way you're trained that counts!" "So,when are we sailing?"
Masked Builder Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Alexis observes the other Heroes as they arrive at the ship. "Jeez," she mumbles under her breath, "we're taking half of Heroica."
Flare Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) Benji responds to Alexis, hearing what she had mumbled as she was standing right beside him. "Yeah, quite a few of us, eh? A little too many for our own good, I would think. It seems that things can get a little stressful between some heroes..." Benji chuckles. Edited December 3, 2013 by Flare
UsernameMDM Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Hoke clears his throat. "I do hope y'all realize we can do this back and forth on the voyage. Captain, how long till we depart?"
The Legonater Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Dyric smiles slightly at the sight of seeing Haldor and Jess together after so long, but turns back to Nerwen. Speaking again to Dyric. You will be a voice of reason among your party, will you not? I do not think the light you serve would shine on those who raise arms against those sticking toward the same good ends. I hope so - Dastan or no we're going to have to be extra careful this time. However, the Orc here made it clear negotiations might be strained at best. Still, I'll do what I can.
CMP Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 "Captain, how long till we depart?" Illdria drew her eyes away from from Olmstyr and Gocklo. "Now. Right this way." The captain led both parties up the gangplank and onto the ship alongside the crew that was already loitering about. "It'll be a bit of a squeeze, but do try not to kill eachother while you're aboard? I believe we've got everyone now - time to cast off." Within a matter of minutes, the Magpie was out of the bay. Eubric was behind them; what very well might be war awaited them. "It'll be some time before we reach the northern High Kingdoms and Baltarok. A week or so, I'd guess. So long as you don't distract them, feel free to chat with me, my crew, eachother, those two...whatever."
Flare Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Benji feels comfortable on the boat. He had not been very nauseous when he rode the flying ship, and this was a breeze compared to that. He walks over to the orange lady, with a friendly and sharp grin on his face. "Hello there, orange lady. My name is Carvenhall. Benji Carvenhall. What is your name? I have not seen one of your kind before."

Benji Carvenhall. What is your name? I have not seen one of your kind before." The orange woman watched Benji's approach and nodded when he spoke. "Don't surprise me. Few Selkreeth around. I'm Zasies." Zasies lifted an enormous, lethal-looking mace onto her shoulder with a proud grin. "Muscle for crew."
Flare Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Benji grins. "Good to meet you Zasies. I hope you won't have to use that dangerous looking stick on any incompetent heroes causing a fight onboard this here ship. How long have you been a crewmate of the Magpie? Been to Baltarok before?"
CMP Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 Benji grins. "Good to meet you Zasies. I hope you won't have to use that dangerous looking stick on any incompetent heroes causing a fight onboard this here ship. How long have you been a crewmate of the Magpie? Been to Baltarok before?" "Hah! No. Illdria says no killing heroes. So no mace. Sad. But...bashing head into railing not killing, I don't think." She eyes the railing of the ship as to measure its potential lethality briefly before turning back to Benji. "Been crew for eight months, maybe. Not been to Baltarok. It true orcs fight much? Would like to fight orcs. That one looks like challenge. Many orcs great challenge then, yes?"
Flare Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Benji looks amused at the Selkreeth and contniues to smile geniunely, something that rarely happens. "I'm sure orcs like to fight, but many people like to fight. I, for one, have hot blood that drives me crazy every time I fight. It gets me into trouble, but that's alright, because I always win." Benji flashes another grin. "It was nice talking to you, Zaisies. Maybe we'll talk again later. If you need any help, feel free to ask me." Benji winks and walks over to where Thormanil and Arx are. "Crew seems nice enough. Well, at least the orange one, a Selkreeth."
UsernameMDM Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Hoke nonchalantly walks about the deck of the ship, taking in the sights and sounds. He checks out each of the heroes and the crew. He spots the orc from the docks and walks up to him. "Hoke Ablesword, sir."

UsernameMDM Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 The orc gives Hoke a somewhat wary look. "Olmstyr of Clan Musalnav." "Well met then Olmstyr of Clan...Mus-al-nav..? I do hope I did not butcher that pronunciation to much. Are you a native to the region which we are currently traveling to?"
Masked Builder Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Alexis approaches the man standing over the cauldron. "Hello there good sir, what are you cooking?"
Peppermint_M Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Tesni sat on the deck watching the comings and goings. "So, two gangs going out to this far off land." She muttered across to the kobold. "Not that I mind so long as I get to lay my head and eat fair rations. Though, might you tell me a little of the other two here who seem to know you?" The berserker idly laid her sword harness to the deck, the weapons near at hand. "I have nothing against fighting the others if our paths were to cross at odds, mark you. It would be interesting to test my strength against."
Scorpiox Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Haldor was leaning back against the side of the ship, looking up at the sky and pretending that he wasn't about to be seasick at any moment. "Bloody boats..." He muttered to himself, feeling distinctly uneasy. Tesni sat on the deck watching the comings and goings. "So, three other gangs going out to this far off land." She muttered across to the kobold. It would be interesting to test my strength against." In an effort to distract himself from the constant yawing of the deck, Haldor called out to Tesni once he'd heard something he didn't like. "Testing strength's all well and fun when there's nothing on the line, but we're dealing with lives, and potentially war, here. I won't be fightin' no-body unless I have to, and fightin' other heroes... not a chance. This ain't no picnic we're off on." He turned his head and took a brief look at the heaving green seas below... and immediately wished he hadn't. "Ugh... couldn't we have walked? Where are you, Jess, I'm not feeling too good."
Capt.JohnPaul Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 "Haldor! A viking? Seasick! What's the matter? Homesick already?"
Scorpiox Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 "Haldor! A viking? Seasick! What's the matter? Homesick already?" "I'm a nord, never said that I ever went viking..." He grimaces.
Capt.JohnPaul Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 "If you've got any other confessions, such as you're not really a warrior or some shaman, now is the time to tell. Just kidding, I do not doubt your abilities. What quests have you been on recently?"
The Legonater Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 "I'm a nord, never said that I ever went viking..." He grimaces. And here I was thinking the same lines as Alexander. Seriously, you'd think you must have gone on a boat sometime during your childhood?

Just kidding, I do not doubt your abilities. What quests have you been on recently?" "Went off to knock-off an old dictator someplace called Lacticium - something like that anyway - went without many hitches, saved the damsel in distress, the usual stuff." And here I was thinking the same lines as Alexander. Seriously, you'd think you must have gone on a boat sometime during your childhood? "Sure, I went on all kinds of boats... when I had to... when I was forced. We were too far up in the north to be involved in any of the regular raids, but now and again, the big blokes'd take their little boys along to sink some ship and make them into men. The trick is to be too busy chucking over the side to do much and get sent home. I hate the way it moves, there ain't no place I can stand without the bloody floor moving underneath. How am I supposed to do anything when the ground can't even stand still? Bloody hell..." Haldor hunched over and shut his eyes tightly, clutching his stomach. Edited December 3, 2013 by Scorpiox
Peppermint_M Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 "Eh, when things come down to it everyone fights to where their loyalties lie, whether that be the path they decide is true or for the fattest purse. We'll see how things go."
CMP Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 "Well met then Olmstyr of Clan...Mus-al-nav..? I do hope I did not butcher that pronunciation to much. Are you a native to the region which we are currently traveling to?" "Baltarok? Aye. Lived there all my life." Alexis approaches the man standing over the cauldron. "Hello there good sir, what are you cooking?" The bearded dwarf looks up at Alexis as he seasons the bubbling stew in the cauldron. "Name's Melvin, Miss Elf! This here? Secret recipe. I call it Dragonfire Stew. 'Tis only for the crew I'm afraid, but...well, heheh, sometimes my gamblin' gets the better of me, and I may have served some here and there over the years. Maybe you'd like a shot at some? Captain says it's been mighty useful in the heat of battle." "Sure, I went on all kinds of boats... when I had to... when I was forced. We were too far up in the north to be involved in any of the regular raids, but now and again, the big blokes'd take their little boys along to sink some ship and make them into men." Olmstyr looked sideways at the nord. "Rite of passage, then? We've always had those in Baltarok as well...used to be we'd just go out and kill members of enemy clans, but we haven't done that for an age. Mostly now we hunt wild beasts. A couple aepyorni or a wyvern or somesuch...master Skovgaard, I'd recommend you don't spread that tale around too much. We've been at odds with vikings for decades. Especially in the last few months - they attacked Vim-Lhzar, capital of Irlaz, and made off with the former clan leader."
