CMP Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 "Knock 'em all out and figure it out once they're down?" "I....don't think the crowd would take kindly to us knocking out their leaders. I'd like to avoid bloodshed here. All but one of these people here are innocent. Very upset....but innocent."
Purpearljellyblob Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Olmstyr did a double take, and blinked. "Wait. You have Grishnod here with you?" "That was one of my contacts. Listen up, everyone; it seems one of the head rioters is planning to kill Bastala once they get inside the palace. It seems this assassin is just using the riot as a front to get inside and use the panic to cover the kill. We need to figure out which one it is, and eliminate them. Any suggestions?" "That's right. Grishnod's with us. The orcs at the barricade were pleased to see the return of Grishnod. And Grishnod said he will see to it that they have no more issues with humans or any other foreigners in this great city. If we present Gishnod to the riot crowd, I suppose that will appease and disperse the crowd? Then we can interrogate whoever that's still unhappy and wants further violence."

But this assassin isn't interested in helping Clan Irlaz. If we expose Grishnod now, they'll still have the element of surprise, unless we know which one it is. He'd be as much a target as Bastala is. She's a powerful mage, so this assassin must be even more skilled."
The Legonater Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 No, I agree with Omlystr, there's a better way than just knocking all the heads together. Can we establish a higher vantage point? Mattias here or I could watch from up there, and if we see anyone entering the building we can report it to someone on the ground who could go in after them.
StickFig Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Matthias here or I could watch from up there, and if we see anyone entering the building we can report it to someone on the ground who could go in after them. Matthias hears his name and looks up, nods, and shrugs, slightly unsure of the point of it all. Edited March 1, 2014 by nstickney
Waterbrick Down Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Grishnod hopped down from the wagon. "They mean to kill my daughter? Where is the ingrate, and what in Tarok's name is going on here? Why are my people rioting?"

Mattias here or I could watch from up there, and if we see anyone entering the building we can report it to someone on the ground who could go in after them. "Nobody's entering the palace while that barricade is up. I suggest we find this assassin before they even get the chance to go inside." Grishnod hopped down from the wagon. "They mean to kill my daughter? Where is the ingrate, and what in Tarok's name is going on here? Why are my people rioting?" "It's good to see you alive, clan leader. Your daughter has become....well.....unpopular, in your absence. Thus the riot."
Vash the Stampede Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 "How many rioting leaders are there? Are there few enough that we can split up and keep tabs on all of them? Including Bastala of course."
CMP Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 "How many rioting leaders are there? Are there few enough that we can split up and keep tabs on all of them? Including Bastala of course." "Those three up in the front - the ogre, the old human with the sword, and the elf. Those are the leaders. One of them is the assassin. We could do that, but like I said, it'd probably just be safer to figure it out before they get the chance to attack. Bastala's inside the palace. She's safe in there for now, until these rioters tear down the barricade."
swils Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Thormanil pushes his way through the crowd and vaults onto the ogre's back, wrangling it by one of its horns. "So, are you the one trying to kill Bastala? We've got a nice li'l party here. Even if you kill her," he offers, diplomatically, "you won't be leaving here alive, so it's really in yer best interest to just lay down your arms."

Scubacarrot Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Guts walked up to the human leader. "Hail friend. I'm with you. What do you want us to do when we get inside?"
Capt.JohnPaul Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Alexandre, at the front of the crowd, tries to get a look at all the rioters he can see.
The Legonater Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I approach the elf. Greetings, ma'am. I must say, this is an impressive plan, and an even more impressive display we've got here.

Even if you kill her," he offers, diplomatically, "you won't be leaving here alive, so it's really in yer best interest to just lay down your arms." The ogre blinks in surprise as Thormanil jumps onto him. He reaches backwards, seizing the dragoon by the ankle and dangling him in the air in front of the crowd. "See what poison humans throw against us? Baseless accusations, pointless assaults! This is the kind of madness Bastala lets into our city! We MUST make her see reason!" The crowd in front of the ogre rallies together, several of them throwing rocks at Thormanil and dealing 10 damage. After a minute, the ogre sets him down. "I will not be slandered by some fool human trying to threaten me. I am Nolgash, and I have no arms." Guts walked up to the human leader. "Hail friend. I'm with you. What do you want us to do when we get inside?" The old human laughs hoarsely and waves his sword. Another orc joins the attempts to tear down the barricade. "Another man here to join the cause! Good, good. I'm Morrison. Word around the block is that Bastala got the vikings to take out Grishnod. I left the Kingdoms to get away from this political crap, damn it, I'm not about to let it destroy this city, too. Even some of the locals agree with me! We're gonna take down this barricade and give that bitch a piece of our minds!" I approach the elf. Greetings, ma'am. I must say, this is an impressive plan, and an even more impressive display we've got here. The elf looks down at Dyric, with a nod. "So it is. After months of this leader pushing around the commoners and dividing the people, I'd say our day of reckoning is long past due. And it seems the people agree with me!" At her encouragement, a number of orcs shoved their way to the front of the crowd, heading right for the barricade. "Apologies, my name is Rusealote. Your support to our cause is much appreciate." Alexandre, at the front of the crowd, tries to get a look at all the rioters he can see. Alexandre notices something off with the rioters; some of the rioters are shoving or even hitting one another. It seems not all of them shared the same ideas. Each 'faction' stood in front of one of the riot leaders. The group that had been guarding the gate, Giv, Basco, Mincerind, and their silent friend, plus a hobgoblin and an Eltengraf were lined up in front of Nolgash. A masked orc, a turbaned human, a green-haired orc, a female orc, a bearded human, and a Pantanan looked to be supporting Morrison, and a porc, a ponytailed human, a bandaged orc, a greasy-haired orc, and a thug slug appeared to be cheering on Rusealote.
swils Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Shaken by the romping he just received, Thormanil slowly gets back to his feet. "No arms?! Sir, you just lifted me by the foot like a ragdoll. I'm no feather so that's a bit of strength. You might not even need weapons. Why, I bet you could take down this barricade by yourself if you wanted. Why haven't ya?"
Scubacarrot Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 "Nice sword, mate. Where'd you get yourself one of those?"
Scorpiox Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Haldor strolls up to Nolgash. "Well met, friend. I admire your courage and willingness to stand up for right. About time someone did something. But what will the other clans think if you're successful? How do you plan to prevent intervention from others?"

I served my country for decades, but learned in time everything boiled down to the greed of the kings. I grew disillusioned." Haldor strolls up to Nolgash. "Well met, friend. I admire your courage and willingness to stand up for right. About time someone did something. But what will the other clans think if you're successful? Even some humans grow weary of her rule. The other clans would agree as well. I would be a far better leader." Your leadership is appreciated even more - look at the progress we're making!
