If it turns out one of the other parties is holding that bridge, we'd better take a shot at talking them down before go in fighting." He turns to survey the faces of the others nearby, not betraying a hint of nervousness that had crept into his heart whilst they waited. Haldor drinks a tonic and a mead, and heals Olmstyr.

The scouting party, for it to be other heroes sounded only reasonable. Could Benji be with them? They'd fought alongside each other before. One side is going to come out on top, and the other will get obliterated in the aftermath. The Kingdoms struck first, so surely they were in the wrong here? We've been in Baltarok, trying to convince the clans to consider peaceful alternatives. We united them, at the very least. From what that soldier said, the Kingdoms never harbored the thought. They let old wounds fester and they struck first. They had no intention of ever reasoning with the Clans. He scratches Arx's head before standing up. "This is what we're here for. Bringing the Kingdoms to their knees, retribution for this slaughter, that's our job now. If we come across other heroes, and they don't stand aside..." he sighs, "Then we drop 'em, too."

"This is bigger than a group of sell-swords with righteous-complexes holding personal friendships. We're part of the fight, now, we have to do what we can to prop-up the good guys. This war spells the fate of more people than all of us together have ever known. The others, they picked the wrong side, they chose to fight for the aggressors. When the time comes... you don't know those people."

It's possible they've signed on to the wrong side, but that can hardly be their fault - they where chosen for that quest, we were chosen for ours. It's how the die is cast. I'm willing to fight for the freedom of Baltarok, but I'm less willing to kill heroes who are up against us by pure chance. ...You can be sure that if it's the way things will have to be to ensure peace, I will do it. But I am less and less convinced that we are in fact ensuring peace.
