Chromeknight Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 (edited) COMBAT ON HORSEBACK: The first time you would take damage, your horse will be knocked out from under you instead, and you will become un-hastened. You may, knock the horse out from under the Sons of Light, and prevent them from being hastened. They will not become un-hastened acexcept by death of horse (same goes for you). Not sure I follow here. We become unhastened if unhorsed. Enemies do not become unhastened if unhorsed. Enemies become unhastened if horse dies. We become unhastened only if horse dies. So when are we unhastened? Upon unhorsing or upon horse death? Or does unhorsing kill the horse and there is no logical conflict? Nerwen raises the Seal of the Warrior Priestess and shouts Amin n'rangwa edanea! The status effects are from the previous battle. And, once again, rolling for the SotWP (or noting the rolls if they failed). Thanks! Nerwen unrolls her scroll of blindness and raises her hand, pointing at Bolivar. Darkness of your heart take the light of your eyes. If successful, she strikes son of light A with her staff, otherwise attempts blinding Bolivar again. Edited March 23, 2014 by Chromeknight Quote
Zepher Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Not being ungrateful, just was thinking we were supposed to keep up with 2 more quests and Diplomacy efforts seemed to do no good. Perhaps acknowledging that Diplomacy is effective would help. Also, would a Shield roll take out the horses if targeted? The other quests also have long dialogue scenes. Some times their diplomacy fails too. But yes, I agree with you two, I should be more clear how and why diplomacy hasn't or has worked. A shield would count as one hit to each horse! So it would KO all horses save Bolivar's. Confusion over poorly explained mechanics. -You are all (excluding Hoke) hastened until your horse is killed. The first free hit at you will kill your horse. I used the phrase "unhorse" because I didn't want too many dead horses. -All enemies are hastened until you kill their horse. Their horse will be killed when it's counter hits 0. -All hastens will be treated as "permanently hastened" in that tiger balm or neautralizer will not rid the enemies or the heroes of it. Sorry for the confusion, I had to rush out the door this morning but didn't want to leave you all waiting. Your Warrior Seal will be rolled for right now, and I will fix the formatting of the first post along with it! Quote

So kudo's for figuring out the trick, yes, you and Gocklo share a horse and will be unhorsed if either of you loses your horse. I also rather inconsiderately did not add the drops for your foes, they have been added! Round One Sons of Light Battle Hoke throws Water Bomb - Sons A-F lose their horses, 1 Hit on Bolivar's Horse >Nerwen uses Scroll of Blinding on Bolivar - Success (Bolivar is Blinded for 3 turns, -1 ether) >Tesni v. Son B - Damage (Tesni Unhorsed) Free Hits Bolivar v. Hoke - Blinded, No Effect Son C v. Nerwen - No Damage Son F v. Tesni - No Damage Son B loses 10 health due to poison Nerwen regains one ether! Hoke starts the battle right by lobbing a bomb at the feet of their foe's horses - only Bolivar is able to reign his back quickly enough that it survives, the rest twist their hooves and legs as the watery explosion sprays them. The horses crumble beneath them. Nerwen is quick to blind Bolivar, who swats ineffectively at a few party members with his sword. The rest of the Sons, realizing their danger, drag themselves to their feet and fall upon the enemy. Benji's horse is caught in the chest with a blade and dies instantly, throwing him clear. Gocklo swipes at a foe, but Nerwen brings the horse too close and though the enemies bleeds ferociously he is able to cut out one of the horse's legs, and it too topples, screaming in pain. Jess hops off her horse and stabs her enemy in the throat, twisting her blade, before lightly remounting. Tesni wheels around for another bout, but she too has her horse cut out from under her so that only Jess remains on a beast. "Cowardly tactic for a Lady of the Light!" Chromeknight Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Nerwen is transcended. +1 Ether. Nerwen ignores Bolivar's ranting. She speaks to the other Sons The one you followed is blinded by the Light and I stand here unharmed. Put up your weapons and join us. The Light will spare you if so. Otherwise you earn the same judgement as will fall on this apostate. Nerwen's voice rings with diplomatic authority and power, the light casting a nimbus around her head and ruffling her white-gold hair. Nerwen strikes Bolivar's horse with the intent of bringing him to the ground. Quote
Zepher Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 OoC: How embarrassing, I seem to have confused what transcended does! I thought it doubled your ether... so your ether should be down significantly, but you should have received back the one that you spent! Thank you for pointing it out, even though it lowered your over-all ether count! "Don't listen to her, men! Cassandra and Raguel are still out there! We are only meant to delay them. They are the ones who meant to attack us, we wished to settle this peacefully! We were leading them away from combat, not towards it!" The soldiers stand firm, but Nerwen can see that they are at the very least listening, and listening enough to make Bolivar nervous. Perhaps if her aim and speech continues to be true, she may sway some of them! Quote

Chief Byrne fled the city after you allowed him to keep his head. And yet we led you away so you would not be harmed. Cassandra and Raguel do not wish to harm anyone, only hold the bridge so that Valentino's return will be safe and glorious." Hoke's accusations clearly do not bode well with the Sons. Quote
Chromeknight Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 There could be an effect for doubling ether, but I've never come close to running out and the prevalence of tonics in drops (and their cheapness) means the effect probably isn't needed. Sir Ablesword. This is not about what we have done but what the Light would have us do. These men are obeying orders from those they believe are right.
