OoC: Yes it should have! Thank you!

I don't know the answer to the shield question, I imagine they should, right? I'll roll for that right now!

One less enemy will be returning damage next round!

"Heroes, I am about to use a neutralizer so that the Generals at least will not be lucky and hastened anymore, that would mean a retreat to the Front, does anyone have a better plan for this side?"

OOC: QMs, not sure if it is but I suppose Raguel doesn't do free hits at this point (see previous rounds). Son C's stunned by the Party Bomb so no free hit? Prince David's stunned as well, so nothing should happen when Haldor rolled Special Damage? So, Dreyrugr and Dyric shouldn't be KO'd right?

Posted (edited)

Very nice catch! I told you guys I was bad at this! David's stun was removed previously, however!

Technically, also the way the results are written, Draguyer would be the one still up, as Son C's hit would have landed on him an counted as stunned. That's how it's always been done in the past. :sceptic:

It could have, but didn't. And I'd imagine it's just wandering around now, being a horse, doing horse things, probably capable of being mounted.

"Tesni, grab that horse!"

Matthias hears Guts' shout and figures movement shouldn't affect him, so he nocks another bolt on his crossbow and attacks Prince David twice.

Shouldn't the fire bomb have at least set the little prince on fire?

I suppose that means that Glup should also have one fewer bombs?

Glup will attack Prince David if the party doesn't retreat to the Front; otherwise she follows the party.

"Perhaps you should see the flow of battle (put in a conditional) when deciding to use it. A decent hit in and I'll be able to take down one of the generals. And for the most part the neutralizer will be hitting our buffs and their negative effects more than the opposite."

As said in character, they will mostly lose negative effects and we lose positive so I've tried to get some form of a plan going without using a neutralizer as we do need those buffs and those would be precious turns later getting them put back on.

I suggest we have a ton of conditional actions this round. I suggest Thornmail goes first and moves back to the back row as he basically is the only one with good health and possibly a very large pool of health. Then we have Alexis take the second turn and move back to the back row as well. If possible with the other fronts blessing we use Hewert to try and make Haldor lucky (And have the central watchtower BO go first, I'm pretty sure at the beginning of the battle we were told the BO of the different places could go in a chosen order). Somewhere later in the battle order we put hopefully our lucky Shaman. Haldor takes his turn healing Thornmail (hopefully this is a blood ritual fully healing everyone making those free hits much more manageable but even without a roll of even a 3 will give Thornmail enough health to take the free hit). Going by damage potential (correct me if I'm wrong, I had two Physics tests today and am really tired) Dreyrugr and Guts are the only ones who can take out Red General B and Dreyrugr would be the best choice as they are both lucky. If Dreyrugr can kill the general and Haldor gets at least a 3 we all should survive this round (ignoring bad luck with those damage rolls) If Haldor rolls a blood ritual we should all survive even if the general still stands barring several damage rolls. We should also put Benji in the back row as well possibly forth. All this moving to the back seems like a waste of time but they are the only ones with good health pools, and maybe in the back row we can finally have Alexis put that smelly hide on Benji or someone next round, seriously half damage from humanoids is something we need.

If the above criteria fail to happen then somewhere later in the battle order Guts can use that Neutralizer stopping those free hits and everyone should live.

Summary of Proposed BO and some Actions

A sudden realization shows that if Thornmail's inspiration goes he will not be able to take any type of free hit so he has been moved to second.

Hewert makes Haldor lucky

Alexis back row (can take the second free hit from Raguel without dying and next round put that smelly hide to good use)

Thornmail back row (successful heal will let Thornmail take the free hit)

Dreyrugr General B (Hopefully killing General B but rolling a 4 for a hide will nullify Raguel's free hit so that's also something to hope for)

Somewhere later, order doesn't really matter

Dyric attacking General A (or maybe something else for a better chance at hopefully rolling a shield and Assassinating some people

Haldor heals Thornmail (hopefully a blood ritual but a 3 or higher will do, so slightly better than 50-50)

Near the end

Guts either attacks or if Haldor doesn't succesfully heal Thornmail, and Dreyrugr didn't take out the General (and possibly taking the results of Dyrics Assassination attempt into account) will use the Neutraliser.

Something else that I haven't taken into account is if we will have enough offensive heroes to stop the other enemies from getting free hits but I'm too tired and will go take a few hours of sleep so if someone else could do this that would be great. Nstickney, maybe Matthias will need to do something brave (but stupid) and take on a higher level enemy. I know that goes back to the using lower heroes as a meat shield discussion but if you do you can consider my phoenix essence reserved for you, whether you fall or not.

If anyone sees a problem or mistake I made somewhere, or something I've overlooked feel free to point it out.

Dreyrugr will attack General B unless this plan is ignored or another plan is used and will follow orders for the next round (assuming I don't wake back up from my nap).

Been at Florida with the family and just now got access to a computer.. Chromeknght can control Mirona/Baradock until further notice!

That's almost a Flipz-level analysis of the battle, Vash. Nice! Does your plan feature Thormy idling in the back row, or making an action? I can chug a potion for a guaranteed +25hp.

Posted

I thought moving row/areas was an action in and of itself. If you do get an action and your willing to risk wasting a grand potion that might be safer depending on the roles or maybe just a waste of time, up to you. Maybe using a grand potion on Benji might get an extra mile out of your potion but it's not particularly important (well it is but its not necessary to get past this round) seeing how it wouldn't by itself let you live through any other free hit going on.

The heroes may station themselves on any one of the five main inner sections of the bridge at the start of the battle, but then it takes one round to travel from one section to another - this goes for enemies as well. Heroes can fight any adjacent force from the front row. Ranged fighters can fire across one area to attack an area two sections away, and take damage from the back row. This means melee heroes cannot outright fight from the back row. They can still retreat to the back row to heal themselves or throw bombs from the back row.

Moving areas, aye, that'll take an action, but I can define my action as being either front or back row.

You should be able to do anything but attack from the back row.

I will not be bribed! Heh, the essence is only necessary if he actually falls - Matthias' loyalty is to the party; he's been KO'd twice already in this quest and won't hesitate to jump in again if needed. However, someone's going to have to (in-character) let Matthias know which enemy's sword he's supposed to fall on, because it's hopeless for me to try and figure it out. As a roleplaying lead-in, it would be nice to know who he's directly saving as well.

Hoke charges at the assassin, but she quickly darts back to the horde. He stands defensively over Lady Nerwen's body.

"Hewyrt, see if you can give Cinna some Luck. Tesni, mount the horse. Beware of that one (Tarokin Dyrok C). He has a vengeful glint in his eye."

Flagpole - Bastala (No elemental damage on Spellspin)

Amythest - Tarvalk

Will try to revive Chromeknight when there are fewer enemies. If Mirona could strike Tarokin Dyruultar C, then it would die from Poison after the round is over. Thoughts?

Haldor steps back from the fray to get a better idea of what's going on, coughing as he does so.

"Nihai, hold still so I can patch you up."

Posted

Irlaz Meldngaun A  and Dyrock A front row, of course.

"Soon the enemies wil die of poison. We shouldn't br taking free hits too much longer. If anyone wants me to change targets, give your command...."

Arx begins to fly forward, ready to bite at the soldiers, when Thormanil grabs him by the tail and holds him back. "Nuh-uh. We're taking it easy for a minute." He steps to the back row and offers Benji a Grand Potion.

Qms, could you please edit the battle post so it is clear who is standing and who isn't?

Preliminary battle order

Heweayrt attempts to make Haldor Lucky

Thormanil moves to back row

Alexis moves to back row.

Matthias vs. David

Dreyrugr vs. General B

Guts attacks Son of Light A

Benji attacks various enemies

Purpearl does stuff

Thormanil uses Grand Potion on Benji

Haldor Heals Thormanil

I don't think that moving to the back row (within the same section) is, itself, explicitly an action. It is simply the row I use the potion from. So if the plan was to get Thormy healed up to eat a free hit, he'd have to use the potion when he's first listed.

Suggested BO*

Thormanil 44/116 def 8 - Benji Grand potion +25 (If Haldor rolls blood ritual)

Benji 3+25/64 def 9 *lucky**hastened* - General A (If Haldor rolls blood ritual)

Glup 11/11 def 2 - Son C

Olymstyr 46/46 def 10 - Son A

Haldor 52/52 def 2 - Heal Thormanil

Thormanil 44/116 def 8 - Benji Grand potion +25 (if Haldor doesn't roll blood ritual)

Dreyrugr 80/80 def 13 *lucky*- General B

Benji 3+25/64 def 9 *lucky**hastened* - General A (if Haldor doesn't roll blood ritual)

Guts 44/44 def 4 *hastened*- Son B

Alexis 71/71 - Cassandra

>Matthias 11/11 def 4 *hastened* - David

>Matthias 11/11 def 4 *hastened* - David

>Purpearl 11/11 def 3 *hastened* - David OR scroll of weakening at General A

Benji 3+25/64 def 9 *lucky**hastened* - Son D (if Haldor doesn't roll blood ritual) OR move to back row (If Haldor rolls blood ritual)

Guts 44/44 def 4 *hastened*- Neutraliser (Guts loses *Hastened*, Dreyrugr loses *Lucky*, Benji *depends*)

Jess 0/34 def 1

Nelvin 0/30

Dyric 0/36 def 3

Free hit - (If Haldor rolls blood ritual)

Son D vs Thormanil (116+8) - 60 = 64/116

>Raguel vs Benji (64+9) - (130/2= 65) = 8/64

Free hit - (If Haldor doesn't roll blood ritual)

Raguel vs Glup 11-130 = KO

*Tried to minimise the number of free hits but didn't account and consider all possible combinations of bad/good rolls. Thoughts?

EDIT:

Purpearl moves to East Front and casts a Darkness Spell through Heavy Metal Rod at Prince David.
