Darkie Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 After it's successful debut at BrickFest, it's now time for my "official" post of my project: The Cathedral of St. Anthony. The Flickr gallery can be seen here. Without further ado! Front View Rear View Details Here there be statues. Lots of statues. There is meaning behind the statues, too, so cookies to who can figure it all out. :) And my personal favorite shot, done with my new camera: Click for bigger! At this point, not a lot of changes will happen, but if you have some constructive feedback, I'm glad to hear it. I have six months to improve this. ;) Thanks! Quote
Hobbes Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Wow, very nice! I like the roof and the details on it. Your "inside" shot looks pretty "real", could have been a real church if it weren't for the plates on the ceiling :-P Impressive work *y* Quote
Starwars4J Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Beautiful, I love how this came out, Darkie. I've always had a soft spot for tall things *wub* But I need to ask, from this picture: I noticed some pieces that I don't believe came in white...were they just rare-colored parts, or did you paint, or did you get recluse to cast some for you? Asuka Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Absolutely beautiful! A great and wonderful work, very elegant. *y* Quote
Darkie Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 Yep, Recluse did the casts of the headpieces for me. I'm eternally grateful to her for them. Thank you! Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted April 9, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted April 9, 2007 Wow, that's an impressive MOC. I enjoyed watching those pictures. How long did it take to build this cathedral? Quote
Jipay Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Ah miss Darkie ! long time no see ! I am glad to see that your town is expending, especially with such lovely MOCs. The greebling work is especially nice. What is the next building which will be set up ? Quote
Sir Dillon Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I am very impressed with how this turned out. It's much bigger then I was expecting it to be. It looks great and impressive from the overall shots, and also looks great from the close-ups, with all the beautiful details you put on it. The interior is also very nice and clean looking, and the stained glass is really cool. Great work! *wub* Quote
Darkie Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 Thank you all! To answer your question, Jipay, I'm thinking there are a few alterations (minor!) to the Cathedral to be done, then there's the supporting buildings: after all, the priests etc must live somewhere. I HAVE to redo that darned cemetery, too. I'm not happy with it as it stands, and I have until October to make it better. :) Quote
