When a new store in the UK has a Grand opening, is it usually like the states etc and customers get some sort of memento on entry or purchase at the till.

The reason i ask is the wife and myself were first through the door at the new Metrocentre store on friday and got offered nothing apart from a catalogue and a hello. Would have been nice to receive some sort of keepsake.

The soft opening was on Friday, the grand opening hasn't taken place yet. The member of staff I spoke to couldn't confirm the date or gift.

The grand opening of the Liverpool store gave away a 4 pack of mini figures that were meant to be The Beatles. No new prints or anything... just grey suits with standard yellow faces and hair.

I think there's normally something given away though

& a minifig pack on the Sunday for the first 300 people through the door who spent £25 or over on each day
