Hi guys

I was wondering if you guys know any way of building an army of clones/battle droids cheap

All ideas are welcome

Thanks

Im not an expert at lego star wars but if i was making an army i would say battle packs becuase if 1 clone on bricklink is $5 (dont hold me to that number) and a battle pack is $15 (CAD)for 4 minifigures then you get more for les from the battle pack , but then also it depends on what kind of army. In 2014 (im sure you know this) 3 new battle packs are comming out, all of seperate squads .

Nope. There is no trick to get a bunch of clones or droids cheap. You can buy new in battlepacks, or new/used through Bricklink, eBay or whatever marketplaces you have in your country, and it will be as cheap as the best offer(s) you can find.

I only know one way and that is to buy a lot of those Lego Star Wars Battle Packs like the Clone Troopers vs. Droidekas and the Elite Clone Trooper & Commando Droid, then sale the thing you don't need then buy more of them and do the same thing but i don't recommended because that mostly take forever if you just want the minifig. Another way is to find someone who have a lot of Clones and Battle Droids to sale in a really good deal.

Those are my idea, don't know if it will work and get you a lot of them faster.

I agree with ShadowWolfHount.

It will take 4- ever to collect a serious army of one side. I collect Clones, and over the years ( sadly ) I collected about 100 of them, through various site's, trading, and through rummage/yard sales .... and for now the white clones will be out of the picture for a while I guess.. the kassyyyk trooper will be the next best thing, because the normal clone will not return for a bit.

So I bought a lot of 75000, with the intend to sell the droiteka's and buy some clones back. ( I know that if I have 40 of them, I will never get 40 clones back ).

If you want to aquire your clones in a different way : Buy normal white figs, buy custom helmets, get a decal sheet from a third party and get going, those clones are a bit different, but more detailled that the one's from LEGO. This is not for everybody, for me certainly not. I like them, I like the aftermarket, but I concentrate on building MOC's , not building an army.

So take my advice : try try and try again. If you really want something, go for it !

There is no trick. My advice is:

- wait for the new battle packs. The supply of droids will rise (at Bricklink), the price will drop.

- buy the new battle packs when they are at sale. They don't contain regular (white) clones, but 1) they look pretty good and 2) the opportunity to get these guys won't come back any time soon.

Besides what other people have said above, another way you might be able to get some clones is to go on youtube and search "Lego clone army" and reach out to the users who have hundreds(sometimes thousands) and see if you could reach a deal with them for a lot.

you could also try reaching out to members here on eurobricks who have clone armies by looking through the "Show your army thread"

Good luck

False. I know poeple who would just give me theirs since they owe me some favors. it really all depends on your contacts

Battle packs are the best way to go. Otherwise Bricklinking by clone or by part. If you're OK with clone helmets on Stormie Torsos (or something similar), this may be a cheaper alternative. Very few of us have benevolent benefactors that would grant us clone armies.

The Advent Calendar has a Clone and a Droid. If you can grab a bunch on clearance after the holidays (if you can still find them), there's an option.

Target is clearancing the poor, forgotten planet series. I found a Clone with Coruscant for $5 yesterday, which was a lot better than its original $10-$12 value. Good luck in finding those--I've seen packages of those sets where an unscrupulous shopper has removed the clone.

i hate when they do that. I saw 2 character encyclopedias with their minifigs removed at Menards

You could always get in touch with those lovely Chinese people selling the fakes on eBay and see if they'll sell you a bucketload for $20. The clone looks about the only relatively close figure there! The Han printing looks terrible!

Its doesn't even matter what figure it is they all look terrible

Now you scare me, I just ordered some 501st troopers from ebay! How can you tell a difference if it's a real Lego or a fake, never had a Chinese one in hands?

I'm pretty sure you'll know the chinese fake! The plastic looks rubbish. You'll just be able to tell from the molding and the overall feel. Did you order them from Hong Kong or China at all?

If not then I wouldn't worry too much. Although they have moved on from having the 'toe' part of the leg slightly pointed so they 'look' right.

I'm not putting this link up for people to buy but just to be aware

See for yourself!

Ok, wow, that looks horrible!! Yoda is

No, I didn't order from there and was paying proper value for each trooper, so hopefully there won't be any surprises, but good to know to double check every time, I was completely unaware that Chinese were making fake Lego minifigs as well *huh* I guess rather naive ignorance, given the popularity...

Thanks a lot for your link!
