Friends,

In time for the Holiday season layout (mine is more Florida themed so no snow, sorry!) I have here a brand new Modular Building MOC.

It has three stories and two subsections, with retail on the ground floor and residential on the upper floors.

Here's the video and photos!

Why the pink sidewalks?

Why the pink sidewalks?

Some pavers/sidewalks give off a sand-red like hue, and BtPink is the closest to it. Not too strong, but enough color to give the building and surroundings more life. In most modern town centers and urban shopping plazas especially around Florida, developers often put that light sand red-ish paver.

Overall it looks quite nice. Maybe a few more details would be the top of the cherry. And im guessing that their is no interior ?

But well done. :)

This is among the more interesting modular buildings I've seen in a while (and I mean that as a compliment). I really like the colour combinations you've used, and there are some very nice other details as well: That balcony with the flowers and the awning, and the patio with the leaves - and that curved wall is an intriguing architectural detail. I like it!

This is an impressive building, I like the façade on the corner and the pub section is very cute! I look forward to seeing it in your layout!!

Happy building

Very nice modular building 'brickbuilder711'......I don't the pavement that colour.....it's nice for a change than grey's all the time !

I like the curved brick effect on the front right hand side of the structure......Brick On 'brickbuilder711' !

I actually really like the pink pavement and I hate the color pink, but it matches the yellow nicely.

I really appreciate the comments everyone!

Thanks! There is to some extent an interior; I want to incorporate interiors to give life to the buildings and enhance the experience, but at times I will run out of available time. The pub has an interior and the suite on top of it as well. However, since I ran out of time to detail the furniture store and suite above it, I'm leaving it blank / going to add a robbery scene to it.

South Beach Lego!

Great!

The interior you have added looks great. Looking forward to se what else you have up your sleeve. :)

Wonderful Florida colors make this one pop!

Way to go!

I love this. It is the kind of building you see in coastal cities in southern europe as well; the concrete, mass produced residential kind. You've used some great techniques. Good job!

Really love it! Nice detailing and good to see something else than the usual buildings.

^^ Good color choice (though I'm still getting used to that Pink!). Good looking facade. More please!

This is a fantastic MOC Modular! I love how the building is less 'sideways shoebox' and brings a different urban feel to the modular world. I can't wait to see it in an overall layout. Some brilliant architectural details and the choice of material differences (colours) is very 90s UK :P

Very nice building, it looks pretty modern, it's a nice design. Great build, keep it up!:wink:

Thanks everyone! Yeah, about the pink tile, I wanted to try something new. While Sand Red or similar would have worked out perfectly, I experimented instead with a recent surplus of pinkies I got at the LEGO Store recently.

Soon I'll put out pics of this in the layout.

Am I correct in assuming that you spent a little while on this?

Really nice building, it looks great, good choice of colors, interesting style!

Seeing the pink tiles, I immediately thought "it is the Lego store pick-a-brick effect"

However I do not really see the "modular" aspect of it - it does not seem to connect to other modular buildings? (which is not a bad thing in itself, as it is nice as standalone building)

Yep! Took about two weekends worth of time to get 'er done.

Thanks! At first the two halves of the building had a modular standard connection with the technic pins just like any other building, then the aspect started to fade away. However, everything else about the building fits the standard, namely floor heights and details.

Nice work, very modern. Loving the Pink sidewalk.

Very nice. Different from most. Put me in the "I like the pink sidewalk camp" .

Was this building inspired by an actual building? It looks like it coukd be an actual building.

Thanks! Not particularly from one building but with attributions to multiple modern promenades and the like.

Cool outdoor cafe at the side
