JGW3000 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 OK, this is driving me nuts. Toys R Us has discounted the 41999 crawler to $199.00, as listed on their website today (Dec. 6, 2013), available only as an in-store pick-up. So, like an idiot, I go to TRU, as it is only a 90 second drive and across the street from McD's for lunch, so I have an excuse to pop into TRU quick, and of course its not there, and hasn't been there for months. So what gives? TRU has an inventory control problem? They are holding back on some sets? or there is actually a TRU store somewhere with these in stock??? Quote
Anio Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 It is not in stock anywhere for months. TRUe story, bro. :o Quote
JM1971 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 What about starting one of those online pertitions to lego to make the 41999 permanent, marketing people seem so distant from reality, I mean who wouldent want one? Or maybe a more friendly way to let lego know lots people want to buy this. Quote

paulincanada Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 It is not in stock anywhere for months. TRUe story, bro. :o I got one three weeks ago on toyrus.ca. I saw it listed in their "Rare and Hard to Find", ordered it as quick as I could, and it arrived a week later. An hour after I ordered it, all references to it were removed from the site. It is 8577 as well. Which seemed somewhat low. I assumed I would be getting 19901 or something. Although, who knows how the were distributed. Quote
Jim Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Have you talked to an employee and said you wanted to reserve one? If the are advertising, you should be able to order it, right? Unless it says "while stock lasts" or something. Don't know the legal regulations, but it's worth a try. Quote

But I'm not sure if it is so good bussines for them, I mean it has more parts, but they sold it the same price as the normal crawler? So maybe the main purpose of this set was just marketing. Also they said from the very beginning that there will be only 20k set, that is the whole point of the limited edition. If they changed their mind later, and release more than 20k, then they would make themself inconsistent, wouldn't they? Quote
JGW3000 Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 TRU just listed, and sold, 4 (four) at $199.99 each on e-bay, Dec 9th!!! With free shipping so they are still out there in the states. Quote
Churchill Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I saw it at the TRU in Monroeville, PA yesterday. Quote
JGW3000 Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 If it wasn't for the %^*!# snow, I'd drive the 8 hours to Monroeville and get it, shame I used to live just down the road Quote
Blakbird Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I stopped at my local Lego store today to get a Power Functions expansion set, and I was amazed to see a 41999 sitting on the shelf so I bought it immediately. I can't believe they had one! They told me it just randomly arrived in their latest shipment. So that proves there are still some in circulation. Quote
JGW3000 Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 Last night I found out that Times Square, NYC had two - by the time I got back to work and called, both were gone - so they are out there, for only $174.99 with current promotion, but you need to be fast. Back to local TRU today to see if they can check stock elsewhere *sigh* Quote
Paul Boratko Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I saw it at the TRU in Monroeville, PA yesterday. Damn... I was just down in Monroeville over the weekend doing the Steel City Con show and my wife and I stopped in that Toys R Us (I think it was on Thursday night) with a 20% off coupon and they didn't have it, but they must have gotten one afterwards... I wonder what day they get their truck on..? Quote
