UES Contact Light side by The Mugbearer, on Flickr

UES Contact Light is a space train, huge transporting vessel. It has crash landed on the unknown planet with only 10 survivors escaped on the huge drop pod. Escapees were forced to fight their way through hordes of different creatures, huge and small, and eventually found the remaining four cargo holds and tractor intact. Then surviors defeated a strange creature named Providence and left the planet. Most of them changed beyond recognition in the process.

This is how Contact Light looks like without all those cargo holds. Those four bits represent fuel tank (left), reactor core (right), lesser bay for special cargo and arsenal for weaponry (up), medbay and crew quarters (bottom).

This MOC was inspired by the rogue-like action platformer Risk of Rain. Go check it out.

Very interesting and well executed design! It's unlike everything I've ever seen before, and yet it's so recognizable as a cargo ship. Some really nice techniques too for creating those hexagonal and octagonal shapes. Does it features some kind of motors on the back? I'm rather curious...

In the actual game there was no sign of thrusters or engines, but I assume they should be.

Thank you for your comment. Also, the cargo frame does rotate even in the game's intro. Unfortunately I cannot find anything both on youtube or google to show the original. I guess I'll just make a screenshot...
