Posted December 10, 201311 yr Hi, this is my first rolling stock moc its a 5 wagon container train, with shared bogie. i have made a total of 10 wagons, 2 sets of five wagons each. i didnt even notice how much it looked like the maersk train wagon until it was finished. (i never owned the maersk) well im not a good photographer, so here are som crappy pictures: let me know what you think. Edited December 12, 201311 yr by Eigenbroetler
December 10, 201311 yr Not sure what you're looking for. You're right, the pictures aren't great, the cars look like the ones from the Maersk train and your engine is just the one from 3677. Still, you've got yourself a train. Welcome to the world of Lego model railways. I hope there will be a little more of yourself in your next MOC. Daylight photo's usually look best but I guess that's not easy to do in Sweden this time of year... Do a search of the forum and the rest of the internet. There's plenty of tips for better photos. For starters, get yourself a tripod (or build one) and use the timer on your camera, and don't use direct flash.
December 10, 201311 yr Wow the shared bogies are amazing ... I like the slope grille used to improve your detail! Keep on!

December 10, 201311 yr The shared bogies are well executed. There simple but effective I think. And Duq, thanks for the tip. Try my next photo's outside, or in the kitchen where I get more sunlight.
December 10, 201311 yr Nice. The shared boogies look good. I see you collect Space Police container too.
December 11, 201311 yr It looks good and so what if it happens to look like a set, that is hard to avoid if you are doing a container car using a drop baseplate. Still has several important improvements compared to the Maersk train cars, most notably the shared trucks. Also, the nod to so many themes with the containers is a nice touch.
December 11, 201311 yr The improved of the engine looks much better, and perhaps you could build some longer (40') for more variation on the wagons, which don't look bad at all. Edited December 11, 201311 yr by UrbanErwin

December 22, 201311 yr Nice container ! i have to do the invert, convert a 9v engine to RC with battery, on the yellow engine.
December 23, 201311 yr I think your photos look fine and the cars look good. More like the TTX cars from a few years back than Maersk's. Good snot, and everyone has said, shared bogies are cool. I like the system you've set up to keep the containers in place. How well do they run? Maersk cars will grind sharp corners and hate flex track. I guess running 9v that's less of an issue for you, but do they roll smoothly through corners? Nice custom containers.

Yes they roll very smoothly in corners, even at full speed they run great, they dont tip over i think the shared bogies made everything more stable, and with a lot less friction, since its only about half the amount of wheels and axles.
December 25, 201311 yr Author Today i rebuilt the front of the train to add some lights! the light takes power from the 9v motor. And i added som more weight with big "train weights" bricks. this is the result: Edited December 25, 201311 yr by Eigenbroetler
December 25, 201311 yr I think the engine is fine. I have smoothed mine off with a lot of tiles, I think that looks better, although my own version is still PF. The container wagons are nice, of course they are going to look similar to the Maersk ones because that is what they are, container wagons and ultimately as they are models of pretty much the same thing they will look similar. It is a bit like a passenger coach is going to look like a box on two bogies with windows down both sides. There will be variations on height, colour, width and length, but at the end of the day they will all look similar because of what they represent. I would not worry about it yours look fine really..
