What the heck are these? Quote
tomdobs55 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 (edited) You see $800 I see 800 VIP points hehehe...but on a serious note, (haha pun!) I believe it's for stuff like team building exercises and whatnot in big businesses Edited November 5, 2013 by tomdobs55 Quote
obsidianheart Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Are those like those kits from that episode of 30 Rock where the team leader is the only one who can see the instructions and has to tell the team how to build it in a certain amount of time? Quote
Hinckley Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 You should use this new thing, it's called Google... LEGO Serious Play Quote
PsyKater Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 It's still hard to get into this. Maybe some day. :] Do we have someone here on the board who is using this? Quote
Hinckley Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 You purchase it as a seminar for your company. I know someone who used to run the seminars. Quote
Robianco Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 The price per piece might be... but some enterprising soul spotted that there seem to be at least 6 of the light bley masts that make up the rear section of the UCS Falcon which normally sell for around £100 each. If you were so inclined that is more than the value of the whole bundle. Quote
Lego Otaku Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 They are however sold out on some LEGO sites so it's safe to assume some of the resellers already bought them to try and sell. If they can sell all 6 for 100 each, the rest of the 2000 pieces set becomes about $200 or within the sweet 10 cents a part. Quote
Robianco Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Well the cheapest ones are £80 on BL... so that's around $125 each. That's $750 for the 6... and that's if there's only 6. $40 for the rest of it doesn't seem so bad does it? Quote
1974 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 You purchase it as a seminar for your company. I know someone who used to run the seminars. And for those customers it does not matter one iota what the colour of those interesting parts are. It would be cheaper for TLG to just throw in some black ones (unless they got loads in stock in grey) .. this is clearly an attempt to kill the aftermarket sellers. Or help out anyone who wants to BL a Falcon And will that dish come in the next Serious Play set? Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) I stumbled across this the other day on the United States Shop at Home site. After some quick searching here on the EB forums and a few other country S@H sites, I have found no other info or discussions on this. Thoughts? Personally I'm pretty excited to see what appears to be Millennium Falcon boat rigging in one of the sets. The prices of these sets/kits put this out of my price range. LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is an innovative, experiential process designed to enhance innovation and business performance. Based on research that shows that this kind of hands-on, minds-on learning produces a deeper, more meaningful understanding of the world and its possibilities, LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® deepens the reflection process and supports an effective dialogue – for everyone in the organization. http://shop.lego.com...us-Play-ByTheme Disclaimer: Like I said, I didn't search too hard so if I missed the TOPIC elsewhere here on EB, I apologize and I'm sure someone will move/delete this post. Hrw-Amen Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I don't know about Millennium Falcon boat rigging but I was looking at these sets the other day as my employer was on about team building exercises. However it seems the budget does not stretch to anything like these prices so no LEGO for us at work. Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Why when I do a search on the main page, nothing comes up for "SERIOUS PLAY"? As already pointed out, the thing that immediately stood out for me is the horrible price per piece ratio. I'd be interested in seeing the instructions in the starter kit. Quote
timtosino Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 LOL at the Grandparent that that bought the set for their grandkids and reviewed it. If you had that amount of money to spend on grandkids I'm sure they would have had much more fun with 2 or 3 modulars. Quote
rollermonkey Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 (edited) Anybody know what the story with these is about? They started coming up in S@H for me, and offer some truly bizarre ppp values... $790 / 2619pcs, $485 / 4900pcs, $37 / 219pcs, and $755 / 2455 pcs Very odd parts, too. Duplo, Friends, City, etc. all mixed up together in each set. Edited December 29, 2013 by rollermonkey Quote
Rick Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Anybody know what the story with these is about? There was a topic about LEGO Serious Play in the General forum, which I have now moved to Special Themes and merged with yours. Quote
rollermonkey Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Thanks. Weird that they suddenly popped up in the architecture stuff today. Quote
