Freekysch Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 So, we are so close to the end of this year and i was wondering what were your Lego Technic purchases ? For me, this was a very good year i must say, i got the 42006 Excavator, 42000 Formula 1 car, 42007 Dirt Bike and the Quad from last year, and not last the 8258 crane Truck and the 8285 Tow Truck. What were the sets that you bought this year and were you satisfied by your purchases ? Quote
Balrog Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 This year was really really good for me. I mostly purchased Technic sets this year (or got them), so I will leave out "normal" Lego sets. Here is what I purchased/got: 8458 8466 9393 9394 9395 9396 42009 The first two, I got used through eBay. The rest were regular purchases. Mostly through Amazon. All in all, I was pretty satisfied. There were only minor things to complain, like the bad weight distribution on 9393. In addition to that I got parts through BL, worth approximately 200€. Mostly Technic parts to supply the collection for building a series of MOCs, like Crowkillers Supercars among others. Quote

Wiseman_2 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I feel like I've been neglecting Lego a little this year, my list feels rather short The only sets I bought myself this year are 9396 (back at the start of the year) and 42009 in August; I also got 42006 as a gift in May. I am but a humble student with a low budget for sets however and so I do have my reasons All are pretty good models, but 42009 definitely stands out for me; it's huge and was very satisfying to build. OzBen Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I have managed to buy and build most of this years technic sets (and a few other large system sets) For technic... 42000 - Grand Prix Racer 42002 - Hovercraft 42004 - Mini Backhoe 42005 - Monster Truck 42006 - Excavator 42007 - Moto Cross Bike (x2 for the A & B model) 42008 - Service Truck 42009 - Mobile Crane Mk 2 41999 -The Boss I also managed to get my hands on a few sets that I have been keeping an eye out for 8275 - Bulldozer 8262 - Quad Bike 8435 - 4WD 8053 - Mobile Crane 8458 - Silver Champion (x2, I wanted one for parts) 8448 - Super Street Sensation 8265 - Front Loader 8294 - Excavator 8439 - Front End Loader 8455 - Back Hoe Loader (received and built yesterday!!) and a couple of Ferrari sets to finish off my collection 7556 - Shell Ferrari F1 (My first Model Team set) 8156 - FXX 8652 - Enzo looking back over the list I'm surprised how many sets I have acquired over the last 12 months..... Since I only have a couple of "out of production" sets still on my wanted list I think 2014 will be a year of less sets and more MOC's for me, well that's the plan anyway.... Quote

skppo Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 (edited) I only got the 8070 because it was cheap (well, kinda) and I'm not going to even keep it I'm really looking forward to next year though. I think I'll pick up at least two of those snowmobiles for parts. Oh wait I guess I also bought the 8868 and 8880 this year, I think. I don't even remember. Years are too long.
