Wow, great news for us unemployed! Thanks a lot for sharing that, hopefully they'll have some positions for engineers with only experience in project management, kind of tough finding a job with no engineering hands-on experience Honestly, at this point I'd be ready to go anywhere...

Thanks for the post. In the US most of the 160 jobs are for Lego Stores and Retail, it looks like. So - even though I'm not looking for work, I'm spreading it along to my friends near the stores....maybe they'll get an employee discount...

On the rare occasion that I see job postings/openings for Lego, the offerings are either for graphic designers, store managers, and various business-oriented professions. As someone with an engineering background that includes material testing, I have always wondered if Lego ever posts openings for materials testers. I assume Lego performs engineering-style examinations of their plastic parts' tolerances of stress, strain, fatigue life, etc.

I would love to work for LEGO, but I have to be honest with myself and admit it's just not feasible currently. I can't drive (don't know if I'll ever be able to), only speak English, and have little to no job experience (not even a single retail or sales job of any kind).

Working for LEGO in some capacity will continue to be my dream for a long time, I think, but it's seeming more and more like a pipe dream as I realize just how underqualified I am for ANY job, let alone a job with a company that so many other people are going to be pursuing careers with.

I think for right now I'm better off pursuing less prestigious jobs in my area just to prove I'm useful in SOME capacity than putting myself out there for an opening that, if I'm not qualified for it, might shatter whatever confidence I still have in my ability.

You'd probably have to live in Denmark to get a job like that.

What location is "USA, Enfield"? Does that mean a remote position that also includes traveling? It is the IT Sr. Supporter position. Of course, there are seven US cities with this as a name as well.

EDIT: That appears to be Enfield, CT where LEGO has a sizable US operation. Darn. If I could do it without moving from Oklahoma, I would have applied tonight.

Anyone know what the starting salary for Lego retail is? It's probably not too much what with Wal-Mart beating everyone down to their bottom penny (and getting filthy rich themselves in the process).

I want to be an official lego designer in Korea. But they don't have plan to hire in Korea. What an irony!

I speak Mandarin Chinese and English, but sadly I don't have the business experience needed for the posting in Shanghai. All of my experience is in digital media and working on live broadcasts. If LEGO has plans to hire camera crews, then I'll definitely apply.

If I knew how to draw, then that graphic artist position would be an easy grab. Oh well, I'll just keep plugging away with Photoshop and pretend I'm making a difference in the world.

That makes me wonder, what programs does LEGO use for their graphic artistry?

If they wanted a "lego player" then I would be applying. I would love nothing more than to work with lego but as others have said it's becoming more of a pipe dream.

If I knew twenty years ago what I know now I would have headed in the lego direction. no matter.

My cousin has applied for positions at LEGO multiple times. One part of the interview process involves being put into a room full of LEGOs and building something that represents yourself - how cool?!

I've been applying for retail positions in my area for months and have gotten rejected each time before even getting to the interview stage. I had hoped that I could do those jobs well and get an in with the company, but as far as I can tell, if you don't have prior retail experience they aren't interested. And good luck getting retail experience if you don't have any, because it seems all other retailers have the same idea.

I also tried applying for a set design position, but by the time I got the email asking for examples of my work, the deadline had passed (and I didn't have a formal portfolio anyway). Hopefully I have better luck next time; in the meantime I'll be interning with a local toy designer to try and get some experience in the field.
